I am playing an empire soldier in a PBEM game managed by Old Warrior... His name is scratchy. Our party has 3 empire soldiers, we're very strong... We don't have even a good healer...
For me he is very powerful

Don't worry, the true test is yet to come. emoticon

This is an Annihilation Station game where I created special monster tables which progressively get more and more difficult. I think the toughest monster they have faced so far in seven combats is an Orc!

The party actually is made up of two Empire soldiers, one Martial Artist (the semi-healer in the party), and the Pirate (by Mike Huffstetler a.k.a. Xaron, revised by Cutlass mostly with some input by OW emoticon)

If I remember, I might come back here and report how well the party does versus some meaner monsters.

Note: The Martial Artist can only heal by meditating while not attacking and while not actually being attacked. Definitely a poor healer in the midst of combat when he is likely to have trouble avoiding the fight.

Some more thread necromancy!

We play GW only.
This means we play what GW sold.
That means the original 14 along with the ones from Citadel Journal and Deathblow.
We call all of those "Official" here.

Re: Unofficial stuff

I get easily inspired by new material and am constantly making new or adjusted tables. But I have found it is so easy to make Warriors too powerful and get lost in overpowering Monsters and Treasures that going back to the basics is grounding at times. I do find the monster tables for higher levels to make little sense so I have been redoing them over time. I write all my materiel for public use in the original game format and let people deviate from there. I personally prefer bigger rooms an longer adventures with no GM. I have even built and designed tables for door events that have corresponding tiles that slide in and out. I still am trying to work out how Chaos Warriors can get followers.
After all it is in the company name, Games Worshop, so the game should always be evolving.

i love a bit of thread necromancy!
some older threads are interesting to read.

I have modified all, to some extent, of the GW warriors and made some of my own to fit this.

simply because I dislike power disparity, originally I was going to "de-power" the wizard, mentioned it on here and somebody (warrior monk I think, but could be wrong) pointed out this was unfair on the wizard.

so I went away, rubbed my few brain cells together, and decided to *slightly* increase power on other classes.

it has made making my own classes easier too.

my main issue is that once warriors get past level 3 it is extremely rare for anyone to die so I've also started a slight change on monsters, mostly because I like the idea that character monsters should have skills based upon their race.

most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.

have a great day :D

A common mistake, especially on the west side of the "Pond", since the name is, in fact, a misnomer.
GW is not a game company.
GW is a toy soldier company.
Their "games" are just there as settings to give folks a reason to buy their toy soldiers.
How do I know this?
Because I worked at GW-US HQ.

As to rest of it, I make themed Event decks & tables and play on Heroic Maps mapping or on Paizo Flip-Mats and Map-Packs when greater room or a different setting is desired.
Otherwise, it is GW-standard WhQ (WhQ,WD,CJ,DB) at "Advanced Game" level of play here.
