Twas a good cliffhanger!
the resulting fight didn't take too long however, the elf using his bow of loren while boosted by the priest and rune smith (+1 to hit and re-rolled attacks) killed the sorcerer over 2 turns.

we found the actual objective room (having found 2 extra ones due to Events and a dark secret), got attacked just before entering by 3 bloodletters of khorne which didn't take long to mop up.

the actual room itself was a let down however: 12 hobgoblins and 4 pink horrors!
it took a while to kill them due to poor power rolls and unlucky dice (12 goblins joined in with a Boss too).

but shortly after that we cut our way clear and rescued the prisoners.
objective room items were useful: another bow of loren (we all like a spare!), axe of slaying, crystal skull and battle stone of le marquis (the worst of the lot but still reasonable as a once per adventure item)

travel was relatively quick despite a broken ankle and a tornado which broke both of someone's legs!

settlement we had some poor luck with the priestess of Shallya again failing to obtain the best weapons available to her sect and an obtained rune on an axe being pointless at this point, but the 3 level 2 characters managed to level up so we are all now level 3.
plus barbarian managed to get light armour so that plus shield and war helm puts him on 5 points of armour for a total T of 10!

the runesmith got a death rune on his brand new axe of slaying so the once per adventure he activates that will be very nice indeed.

I think we have enough that even a half dungeon will probably put us up a level, although we're still a little wary of mummies.

new dungeon was a slow one: we found groups of daemons and killed them, daemonettes and horrors then daemonettes again.
we fought some giant scorpions too.
we had an event which caused part of the wall to collapse revealing a corridor heading off into the darkness (effectively splitting the deck like a T junction would)

decided to carry on the current route, but the next card was flames of khazla so changed minds, went down this way and got two events almost consecutively which were overwhelmed by power: the spell caster cannot cast a spell this turn...both times during a fight.
(seriously I have a D100 events table but some events keep on happening, we've had some events 4-5 times!)
then the dungeon room we entered suddenly moved by some ancient machinery up a level, making enemies only level 2 instead of 3 and no way to return to where we were...

luckily it was the last card in this offshoot so we can exit here and re-enter on square one.

game ended with 7 chaos warriors arriving and surrounding us in the shamans den all on the higher section and the ranger mage cannot cast spells for this turn!

I know what you mean Edquest, I use 3 D66 tables for events (depending on if generated by turning over a dungeon card, a random event or an unexpected event if the warriors are in combat) and it is unbelievable how frequently the same events are rolled in a single dungeon.

appears I've missed a session write up.

anyway we tracked down the objective room, found an extra one but passed it by.

actual objective room was a bit easy:
3 rolls on level 3 table revealed 6 horrors of Tzeentch. twice.
1 chaos dwarf sorcerer, 3 bull centaurs and 12 hobgoblins.

took a while to kill as it was the tomb chamber, sorcerer died on first turn as runesmith threw 2 firebombs and took him out.

then it was slow due to the one turn one space of movement then another monster in the way issue.

however we found a Flames of Khazla earlier (room, not event) die roll allowed 1 item to be dropped in and another to pop out and we had some lucky exchanges.

I in particular swapped some wizard only item I've been lugging around and it changed into a Gromril Blade: double damage but 2 handed so no more shield for me.

just leveled up in city, not done the rest of the stay though, hopefully the Priestess of Shallya will obtain useful stuff so she can be more helpful in fights against living enemies.

also level 4 includes mummies, dragon ogres and necromancers!
oh my!!

we did the city, the warrior priestess of Shallya finally gained a staff of deflection which means she has more options in a fight.

(in WFRP the order cannot take life except Nurgle followers. I have continued this into game, the player has had great luck in rolling some really good skills....for later in the game which are not paying off now.
this staff means she can hit an enemy and make it attack a target of her choice on an attack by attack basis, although in the monster phase it still acts as normal. otherwise she can only harm undead and daemons as they are not alive)

anyway the rest of the city happened with some humorous occurrences (dwarf saves a merchant from a murderer, next day tries and fails to do so: Net loss of 200 gold. barbarian and priestess are hit by beer wagon. elf decided to leave town or get married. you know: the usual!)

new dungeon: idol chamber quest 5, get a staff to the idol and put it in the idols hand, then leave. objective room contains normal monsters plus an extra roll on the table!

two dark secrets: goblins hate the dwarf and if any show up they have +1 to hit him and any over the rules for 1 on 1 attack the dwarf.
totally irrelevant more than likely as we are now level 4!
priestess has amnesia and forgets blessings, skills and stuff every time an event card is drawn, hopefully this will wear off (needs to roll a 6 when the card is drawn essentially, or after the adventure has finished)

so far we've fought chaos dwarf sorcerer with dwarfs, blunderbusses and bull centaurs, a lonely beast of nurgle and later 2 mummies the elf has earned 3000 gold, the barbarian 1500 and the dwarf 140 not including healing gold.

we need enemies with a bit more staying power!
just hit a T junction and went left, session ended here

had a session last wednesday, cannot remember all of what went on now I forgot to do a write up immediately.
but I remember how it ended: T junction had a spiral staircase down, we are level 4 but everything here is level 5.

found an old bookcase which we promptly looted, good rolls gave us magic items each.
then a 1 was rolled which set off a trap.
every power phase while in the room a chute opens beneath a random warriors feet.
said warrior falls through and it shuts behind them.
next warriors phase it happens to a different warrior and the last turns warrior falls into their square from above.
weird!
then draw another event card: monsters
necromancer, 6 mummies, 3 wights, 3 ghosts.
positioning is that we are totally surrounded by mummies.
priestess of shallya falls through chute.
we panic a little and the big guns are pulled out:
elf ranger uses Death sword
my barbarian pulls out a hydra sword...due to berserk roll being a lucky 6 in first turn and the runesmith giving me re-rolls for missed attacks I kill all of the mummies, 2 wights and a ghost...
runesmith puts back his axe of slaying and decides not to use the time freeze ring either.
necromancer summons 6 ghouls to replace the 6 mummies, 1 in power phase reveals 3 minotaurs, ogres and rat ogres...luckily there are only 3 spaces so 3 rat ogres appear.

we have yet to see who will fall through a chute now.

we've not really fought many wizards and two of my players are quite new too.
the only ones we've fought have been chaos dwarf sorcerers who only have 8 wounds and firebombs have put paid to them quickly.

necromancer has 25 wounds and regenerate 2 so not going to go down without a dedicated assault: looks like it could be interesting.

if the objective room is down here we could be in for trouble, but it could be still on the normal level of the dungeon and we might have to retrace steps back, we only went down here because every monster group so far has been inoffensive!

so the next turn the warrior priest re-appeared but the raging barbarian fell through a chute.
the fighting went on, a path was cut to the necromancer but nobody got next to him.
he cast the -1 attack for all warriors spell.

took two more turns to kill him and the remaining undead, some lucky rolls occurred to bring this about.
we finished the lower dungeon and found no objective room.
we did end up with a few more fights down there though but none of them are memorable now as i'm writing this up 3 nights later.

as we were leaving that part 3 dragon ogres showed up but we'd already opened the door out and so we fled.
entered the front: walked down a corridor and rolled a 1
3 dragon ogres
next turn 1 again!
4 mummies.
hmm this could be a problem.
dwarf has a solution: axe of slaying and 2 death runes on it: most enemies slain and now we are working towards the objective room again!

inconsistent gaming days have meant my prompt updates the day after the session have not been happening, now it is 3 days later and it has gone a bit fuzzy.

so we get to the objective room, there is an explosion of monsters followed by a turn in which we wallop them then hit a timefreeze ring and do it again.

enemies were bull centaur champion with magic stuff and guards, juggernauts of khorne, skaven stormvermin and rat ogre and some daemonettes of slaanesh.

they died quickly and we got the treasure.
we have yet to travel though as this was a late finish.

priestess of shallya player decided she no longer wishes to play this character: we have 3 healers so having one character dedicated almost entirely to healing is excessive.
doing the switch over to a priest of ulric now instead.

should have enough money to get to level 5 assuming we get to a city with the money and then the dangerous foes start appearing: cockatrice!

Priest of Ulric? Haha! It sounds like a nice alternative to the Priestess of Shallya, since you have other healers along. emoticon
