Sadly, I have never played with others up through BL 10 -- only done that solo and not very often. I find there is a lot to manage at higher levels, especially in solo play (with no one to help remember all the special rules).

too much for one person, I've played 2 player with 2 warriors each and got to level 7-8 each warrior before.

my main problem is once we put it down for a few months and then return we fancy starting new warriors and not continuing the old ones!

most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.

have a great day :D

Re: Introductions Please

Hey guys, my names Luke and I'm from Essex in the UK, recently returned to the gaming hobby after nearly two decades in the wilderness, and got my hands on my old copy of WHQ that a friend had been storing in his loft, unbeknownst to me.

I thought that this game would be absolutely perfect to play with my daughter once she's old enough, so have been working on replacing the bits missing from the game (not many fortunately) and am having a go at a 3D dungeon, and also have a crazy idea to try and get all the monster tables minis purchased and painted up. The time I can spend actually gaming now is much reduced due to adult life (boo) so scouring eBay and painting up the hundreds of minis is a perfect distraction while I wait for my little one to grow enough to want to play ha ha.

Had my first solo dungeon run last night and got six rooms in a row which were a pitched battle each time, followed by a corridor which promptly caved in! Forgot how much random awesomeness this game provides.

Re: Introductions Please

Hey folks,
Just saying hi!
The first boardgame I ever fell in love with was heroquest, some 25 years ago. Life happend after that and board gaming popped in a few times.
For the last couple of years I've started playing more and loving it!
Happend upon a copy of WHQ recently and despite the wonky rules (takes some time getting used to the idea of actually filling in the gaps or bending the rules for me ;p) and ease with which my party can get wiped, I'm falling in love with this thing!

Hope to find some inspiration here, which already I found a lot of.

Thanks in advance for all the hard work you put in here!

Hello,

just thought after lurking here for a few months I would cease my rudeness and finally post a little something of myself.

Well my name is Darian, and I along with my beautiful wife and 4 year old daughter live in pretty little town in the Southern part of Australia called Summertown. I have been an avid boardgamer since my first game of Heroquest some 25 years ago in which I took three of my younger brothers through a homebrew campaign spanning about 6 months of weekly playing. Some good memories.... Recently bought a mint condition USA copy, with 3 addons; am pretty wrapped emoticon
Since those foot loose and fancy free days of little responsibility I took a hiatus of boardgaming but have since returned several years ago and have a good group of friends who I catch up with and enjoy playing the new generation of RPG-esk boardgames, such as Runebound 2nd addition, pathfinder ACG, Mage Knight and the recently kickstarter releases of Gloomhaven and Folklore the Affliction (both are great games). I even now occasionally GM the oft criticised High Fantasy RPG, Paladium Fantasy which I reckon is even now still pretty fun (1st edition has the best RPG Combat).
However, it was not until recently I came across Warhammer Quest whilst trawling Ebay for a Heroquest expansion (I had known of Warhammer quest in my youth but had never considered purchasing due to the lofty price tag). I then thought with sage like wisdom it may be worth revisiting but I needed to consult the tomes of boardgame geek before being convinced. I read a few reviews, but it was Littlemonk's which clinched the deal that it would be worth purchasing. So, four months ago I tracked down a copy through ebay, purchased it and have pimped it with just about all the white dwarf and deathblow ad-dons, as well as the contributions and addons made through this site. I also mortgaged my soul by purchasing the two major official expansions and most of the warrior expansions and many miniatures.
Up to this point I haven’t played it as much as I would like because I have been spending a fair chunk of the little spare time I have putting together excel spreadsheets for varying randomized tables for dungeon accessorizing, furniture & item placement, greater breadth of shop items and warrior action-skill tables.
So I guess the long and short of it is: I like Warhammer Quest
Thank you for allowing me to be a lurker here for a while and download the darn good content (donations will be made soon).
I would also be happy to upload my meagre contributions for this game at a later date. I do have some warrior action-skill tables up at boardgamegeek if anyone should care to look.
So long for now, my sincere thanks to those who have contributed greatly to this great game
Abracasmakya 😊
