Re: The quest of Quest
they all look amazing.
for the spiders you can always add some bright colours on after you've finished on the knees maybe?
unless you've coated them with some "after painting" layer?
(been a while since I've painted!)
--- most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.
have a great day :D

Re: The quest of Quest
Thanks very much, I was really chuffed with how they came out. When I need a break from mini painting I will do another batch of tiles.
I will see what a few bright colours do to the spiders, I don't want to dwell on them too much got a hell of a lot of other beasties to get through yet ha ha!
Today I got the next six orc swords done, and painted the last big 'un at the same time.
Beastmen also finished.

Re: The quest of Quest
Another evening of painting towards the cause.
The next six Orc archers.
Goblin netters. I got these from Black Tree Design, I think they're great so have put another order in with them, last of the models for level one are on the way from them.
Skeletons! These are the Mantic models, they were a blast to paint. Skeleton models were the first I ever saw as a Jason and the Argonauts obsessed nipper, it was the start of my hobby but these are actually the first I've ever painted.
Only ten so they will be in the monster table as D6+4, will do this with a few entries if i can only get ten models.

Re: The quest of Quest
Had a holiday but painting has resumed!
Since everyone is playing the new 40K at the mo I had the crafty idea to start a daemon army as I will be buying many for the lists anyway. So my work on level one is slightly paused while I jump ahead and paint some daemons.
Bloodletters
Nurglings
Plaguebearers
Herald of nurgle which can double as a nurgle sorceror
Daemon prince that will be my WHQ Bloodthirster should I ever reach level 10.
I now have all the models for level one and two in the pile. Once the buzz for the new 40K dies down I may be able to get some games organised, failing that a solo dungeon or two (hundred) should assuage the craving ha ha.

Re: The quest of Quest
Progress has been made!
On my eBay adventures I found out who my Elf miniature actually was, and it stopped looking like an elf instantly ha ha. So I got a new elf from heresy, and a different barbarian as well just cause I love the minis.
Got some mummies off of eBay and they were already base coated white, so thought I'd try out what a quick wash of seraphim sepia would do to one of them. Liked it, so did all six in mere minutes.
Back on track with level one. Stormvermin.
Savage Orcs. I had some archers but they scaled a wee bit small, then these came up on eBay and I got em cheap, hand weapons seem more savage anyway!
Zombies from heroquest.
Orc Shaman, and goblin jester which will be their Shaman for now. Also got the rest of the goblin archers and spearmen painted up.
Definitely getting there for level one. Also started a ragtag group of heroes and had the first proper quest, it was savage but they made it thanks to some lucky, lucky rolls and inept Orc archery.

Re: The quest of Quest
And some more...
Sauruses and Skinks. Skinks are going in the hobgoblin slot on the table, and sauruses will be replacing the centaurs. I don't really like centaurs so out they go.
Mantic ghouls

Re: The quest of Quest
Aaaaand level one is finished, woo-hoo!
I think that's about 200 models all told.
Dark elves. A mix of citadel and black tree design models.
Squigs and one of the herder teams.
Time to crack on with level 2.
