Elf Ranger Mage and Large Monsters
We've reached the higher level dungeons (8th!) in our weekly game and we now regularly face "Large Monsters".
"Large Monster" rule says It takes an extra power equal to the Dungeon level to cast spells against.
How does this apply to a Ranger Mage?
Normally extra power cost translates as -1 to cast... But at level 8, -8 on the dice is kinda silly!!
Gonna house rule it as level/2 penalty - but does anyone else have a better way to handle it?

Re: Elf Ranger Mage and Large Monsters
Very good question. I guess I have never really faced this one yet in my gaming -- never had a high level Elf Ranger encounter with a Large Monster! I must play this character more, since he is one of my favorites!

Re: Elf Ranger Mage and Large Monsters
i have just played it is no different.
regular wizard still has plenty of other advantages, like unlimited number of casts per turn.
large monster does other things too.
at that level a large number of encounters also have high level casters each with chances to Dispel spells so have at it while you can!
--- most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.
have a great day :D
