Return to WHQ

After not playing WHQ for about 5 years I've decided to get back into it. Got Silver Tower and Hammerhal last year and while both were fun, neither really scratched the same itch that the original did.

Having said that, it's not enough to just pick up and play the same game I played with my gaming group years back. No this time I've decided to completely flush out the entirety of the monster tables. Yes, I am a complete mad man.

I had/have a pretty good collection of minis for the game but I really wanted to spruce things up and have begun the long quest to completing the tables.

I will check back in with some pics as the minis start coming in through the mail.

Happy to be back!

As someone who has embarked on the same journey, I would say use the bestiaries as a collecting guide rather than the monster tables. I found the monster tables got ignored once I started GMing as each dungeon was themed around a particular race, and if you have to take the minis around they are hugely impractical to transport. You’re also not tied to getting specific amounts of some models that might be really expensive to acquire!

I’ve got models for nearly all the expanded bestiaries now, just got to paint em!

Excellent advice! Though I've already purchased basically everything but the Greater Daemons at this point (they won't be seen till much later on). I hear you on the transporting but luckily I host any and all WHQ games so that's not a big deal. Never really tried the GM version of the game.

Awesome! Hosting will make a big difference, I am looking to restart my campaign now I have moved and can host as well.

GMing is great fun, the WHQ game was such a huge sandbox to play in you can really go wild all over the Old World. Thankfully the game is also fantastic with the cards and tables too!

Monster Mash! Everything is present except the Griffon, Bloodthirster, Lord of Change, Lammasu, Tomb Guard, and Centaurs.

I have since received the Centaurs Tomb Guard and converted a Lammasu out of the Manticore kit. I will start posting pics of mobs by type soon starting with Greenskins.
