Multiple rolls for "once per adventure" items.
Specifically I wanted to ask how people play the Ale House, for example, sometimes you may get multiple results, e.g the old Norscan (pig oil) or the special attacks.
I wondered, do you only ever get this "ability" once per adventure, or do I get another use of the ability if I roll 8 again on the Alehouse table?
I ask because today my dwarf got about 3/4 8 rolls in the Alehouse, I suggested he can only learn to use pig oil once, as it was more like a skill but we didn't really know.
Is it mentioned/implied in the game how it works? How does everyone else play this sort of thing? Cheers.
Course, my dwarf would love 3/4 ignore blows during his adventures, but if that was the case, by BL 10 he could end up with more than a dozen of them

Re: Multiple rolls for "once per adventure" items.
The alehouse is very repetitive with just 11 different results. I use a custom table, 2D6 to determine which alehouse, followed by a further 2D6 roll to determine the result. for me, that makes things more interesting.
Yes, I allow duplicate 'once per adventure' skills to stack. In my experience it's almost essential to have multiple slippery pig oils at higher levels. How else can you survive a Skaven Deathmaster?

Re: Multiple rolls for "once per adventure" items.
Cheers for the response. I was kind of hoping you would say that, gleefully adding the "owed" ignore blows my Dwarf had earned in the last visit to the Alehouse.
And your right, we're only BL 3/4 now and already even the regular Skaven Assassins are nearly downing us.
While we're on the point of Assassins. Does the Assassinate ability work for all their attacks or just one "extra attack"?
I ask because in the book it sounds like it says they make a "special attack";
quote: Some Monsters may make a special Assassinate attack.
Implying to me that its just one in addition to their regular attacks (of which they also have many).
In my first run years ago I remember we were allowing them to "Assassinate" on N+ with all of their attacks

Re: Multiple rolls for "once per adventure" items.
Interesting, I've always played assassinate as affecting all attacks and everyone I have ever played with has done the same.
Having read it again though I certainly see your point. Reading the skill in isolation I would say it is just a single additional attack. Chill explicitly says it replaces regular attacks; Vomit clearly states it is in additional to normal attack. Assassinate seems to be left a little more ambiguous.
If it was intended as an additional attack I would expect it to say if it should be before or after regular attacks.

Re: Multiple rolls for "once per adventure" items.
assassinate means the monster ignores all armour.
the skill will have a number after the name (6+ i think for skaven assassins)
if that number is rolled it ignores Toughness and Armour.
keep those ignore hit skills and abilities when you know these guys are around!

i would not allow multiple uses of this ability, but if you wanted that option i would make it be for the next adventure only and keep going alehouse and hoping

I use the New Alehouse Rules from Citadel Journal/Deathblow Magazine. I've also added some things to the basic Alehouse table.
