Playtesting our tables
Hello everyone. Recently, we have started playing Warhammer Quest again, we have been using all of the tables our gaming group have written. It was probably about 4 to 5 years ago that these events were written, and upon going back to them and play testing them again, well, it would appear that some of them are, well, to put it politely, not very well thought out. Therefore, we thought it might be good to play test all the events again and hopefully get rid of crap ones, change old ones, come up with new improved ones, etc. To do this, we were hoping that if anyone else out there is using any of our event tables at all, we would REALLY appreciate some feed back about our tables.
Anything at all really. If you think something is too harsh. If you can't understand something. If something doesn't specify wether it is modified or unmodified damage, a table has too many treasure troves lying about. Anything at all you don't like or want to see changed, even spelling mistakes, PLEASE PLEASE let us know.
Hopefully, if the community chips in together, we will be able to get some tables that are balanced for every Battle-Level and that doesn't instantly mean you die as soon as you set foot out of a Lustrian dungeon, hehehehe.
Mabye I can even get my HTML savy brother to whip up a form that people can fill out for ease of use.
Anyway, thanks in advance
Michael

Re: Playtesting our tables
Do you have any table(s) in particular you'd like feedback on? I'd be glad to take a look and give you my thoughts.

Re: Playtesting our tables
Thankyou. Mainly the D100 Hazard's table and the D100 Settlement Events table from our site. They are rather old by now, and we think a lot of the events could be adjusted or deleted all together.
Some of our events make people lose Wounds. We use house rules that state a Warrior regains 2 Wounds per day in a settlement. Thus, if he is really unlucky, he can die in the city or the wilderness. Just thought Id mention that in case someone suddenly said, "hang on! You don't lose Wounds in the city or wilderness. You're guys events suck!"

Re: Playtesting our tables
I have your tables, and next time I play I'll try to use them and give you some feedback.
One thing I would mention is that I'd like to see the tables use D6 instead of percentile dice. Everything else uses D6, so I don't see any reason to make a switch for these tables.

Re: Playtesting our tables
We use D100 for the event tables so we can have a larger selection of events. If we used D66 as the original tables did we would only end up with a total of 36 events which really isn't that many.
Even so, the other day we had a game and rolled the same number three times in a row for Dungeon events (event 67, using our Dungeon Events table) which was quite amusing. So we could have had 3 Marksmen following us around the dungeon, but we said no to one and ended up only having 2...

Re: Playtesting our tables
Andrew, how about trying a d666 chart (roll three dice instead of two)? That would give you 216 available results, without having to resort to a percentile system. It would also give you dramatic rolls (everybody would know SOMETHING was up if they rolled triples).

Re: Playtesting our tables
Oooooooooooooh, that would be a cool idea. However, I don't think our limited imaginations could think of 200 or so events, hehehe. It was hard enough trying to think of 100 events.
Mabye if you roll a 666, you could instantly get turned into a Chaos Spawn with no chance of using luck to avoid it, hehe. Or perhaps not

Re: Playtesting our tables
I always wanted to have a database of 1 d66 chart per location/Battle-level. In other words, I am insane. But not insane enough to do it. So I haven't. Waaah.
