Norsca Miniatures
Hello
Games Workshop doesn't exactly do any great Norse miniatures these days. I was wondering, does anyone know of any good Yeti miniatures. And also any good Ice Elemental or Ice Golem miniatures. Ive done a search for ice elementals but can't seem to find any good ones.
There is an Australian brand called Inquisition that does a reasonably OK Yeti, but it is really small in comparison to Games Workshop minotaurs and ogres, which is the size I assume yeti's take up. 4 squares, that is.

Re: Norsca Miniatures
Reaper minis just released their version of a yeti as well...
http://www.reapermini.com
if you go to their site, they have some of the best Norscans (Vikings, barbarians, shamans, and berserkers) I've seen so far... I'm not sure which Yetis I like better, the Kenzer & Company ones are cuter, the Reaper one looks like a nasty old Tundra yeti..

Re: Norsca Miniatures
If you're new to Reaper, they are hands down my favorite minis company... I want them to take over the world... They have tons of different adventuring classes and monsters; many from D&D and some that look like Warhammer stuff... They are all metal, very cheap (their Giants sell for US$14.99) and they make plenty of females (very important in my group). This is great because Games Workshop is a giant 'sausage party' in comparison..

Re: Norsca Miniatures
I think my fav company would probably have to be Games Workshop miniatures, I'm afraid. It's not so much the quality or their selection, its more that they all just look so much more larger than life and grander than could ever possibly be. I mean, the simplest orc warrior plastic miniature is this massively huge muscled greenskin dude with a weapon twice the same size as a normal human. I love that kind of stuff!
Confrontation miniatures do awsome stuff as well, as you can see by that Fire Elemental.
Why do I feel guilty admiting that Games Workshop miniatures are my favourite? Wierd.

Re: Norsca Miniatures
The two Yetis in the following pic are from Copplestone Castings
How epic do they look!?! Very GW style and fierce!
There's some suitable hairy and fierce Yetis at West Wind Productions
Here's the merry team

Re: Norsca Miniatures
Wargames Foundry do some nice looking miniatures as well.
Here's a selection from their range that could be suitable for Norsca.
Here's some Bears that could be painted white for vicious Polar Bears, although GW's new Bear for their Kislev range is absolutely huge!!

Re: Norsca Miniatures
Whoah, whoa, whoah, there... What's this about a Kislev range!! I didn't know anything about this!
I like GW's games, but their minis are merely good to me, not great. If you want epic minis, Michael, check out Reaper's Warlord range; they are almost 30mm minis, grandiose, almost as good as Confrontation but at half the price!
Reaper's games, however, suck in comparison to GW's so far. I am hoping this will change though. I like the other yetis that were posted, though... It's real hard for me to get West Wind's stuff here in the States though

Re: Norsca Miniatures
Try this link for a sneak peak at some of the new Kislev stuff that's coming out who know's when.
There was a picture of a huge Bear there last week when I looked at it, but it's gone now, unfortunately.
