Hello all,

I'd like those of you who have tried out any of the classes I have made to give your impressions here if possible.

Thanks

I really like the rules you made for the High Elf Mage, but I don't know if the character stays interesting after a few battle-levels. Maybe you should add some rules for finding lost Elven artefacts and gaining some bonuses if you return the artefacts at a Noble House or some other Elven location? I'm thinking along the lines of the Bretonnian Knight's errands.

I hope this proves useful to you.

Tomorrow, Saturday april 24th 2004, will be the first time I wil use one of your characters. It will be the Imperial Assassin. I will start him at 3rd level together with a 3rd level Kender/Halfling Thief and a 3rd level Sigmarite Sister. These three newbies will join a group of very strong 4th level Wizard, Dwarf and Imperial Noble.

Originally I had a group of 4 players (2 guys & 2 girls) but since one of the couples split up one of the girlfriends is out. So, tomorrow I will retire the Bretonnian Knight (called back home because his father died) and the remaining 3 players get an extra character to play.

I will let you know once I have some info.

Comments on my Classes please

The Imperial Assassin(IA) died on his first quest!?
I added him as 3rd level, together with 2 other new 3rd level characters, to a group of three 4th level veterans.

The guy who played him also plays the wizard in our group. I gave the IA 15 hitpoints and no special extra equipment, because the three veterans had plenty to share. However, nobody came up with the idea of giving them a good weapon. The wizard even had a Hammer of Hargon(throw as many damagedice as you like but a one or two among them means there is no damage at all) to give away because he'd still have his Dragonsword(double damage on 5 or 6 to hit).
So much for teamwork!!! (I am ashamed to admit the age of my players: Imperial Noble+kender 32, Dwarf + Sister 37 and Wizard - Imperial Assassin 45!!! Okay, I will turn 35 this year on 14-7)
Another thing that they didn't capitalize on was the Better in the Dark skill. First I had to give a hint that it would be better to have another new one, the sigmarite healing sister, carry the lantern because she was staying behind all the time to act as healer when needed. Nobody ever even considered putting the lantern down on the floor and charge into a monsterfilled room with his mates.
I felt sorry for the IA when he eventually got killed by a Wight Lord and the Wizardplayer was so disappointed in him(self!?!) that he didn't want to ressurrect the bugger.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but how did the Sigmarite Sister fare? I used her once for a healer, but that's it (she did okay).

Sigmarite Sister

I ran an only sligthly adapted version of the Untitled Adventure from Joe Ludwig that I found in the Museum.

Sigrid Heidelbeer almost died in the first fight. Two werewolves, one attacking her. She had to use up her potion of healing but it was a blessing in disguise. She right away realised how vulnarable she was/is. With some incredible luck though(they had to cross a lava river),the party found the Hammer of Sigmar so from now on she will be able to defend herself pretty well.
She is played by my only female player, who has been playing a dwarf from the Heroquest days, the early nineties. I used a Reaper model with a staff so she started of with a 'warhammerstaff'.
Image (I painted her to look like my own girlfriend: a redhead with touches of blond)

During this first adventure she stayed behind a lot, using her sling to do a little damage but stay out of harms way. In the final room the Big baddie summoned two mummies at the start and 3 Wight Lords and 2 Mummies proved too much for the Imperial Assassin.

Hey, I was just laughing when you talked about the age of your players. I just introduced my girlfriend's parents to the game who are much older than that. It was funny as hell because her dad, playing a Bretonnian Knight, left his party to die while he went exploring the rest of the dungeon (to complete his quest, you see). Not the noblest of knights. He got his just desserts later on when he was ambushed and webbed by giant spiders and couldn't break free. emoticon The rest of the noobs were shocked by the failed campaign. My response was "Well, that's why I play this game. It's harsh and you're not always waltzing your way to victory"

Good way to endear yourself to the parents.
Give them cute little characters to play, then crush them mercilessly.
What's a noob?

noob= or commonly known as a "Newbie".
New to a game/hobby/forum, known to post random posts. (in my experience anyway)
also not often commonly accepted into the forum for a long period of time.
