shrinking tiles down for 10mm miniatures
Hi all, I was hoping someone here might have an idea on how to shrink down the tiles to match 10mm miniatures. I have been thinking of making a set that would be easily transportable for myself. Seems as if I always have to take it to other places to play (gets to be a pain with everything. I took a look at Pendraken miniatures and see I can get miniatures that will fit into warhammer quest really well and maybe if i could shrink the tiles accordingly... Just an idea so far.

Re: shrinking tiles down for 10mm miniatures
I started making my own tiles some time ago. They are original size, but since I print the images from my pc, it's not a problem to shrink them.
It's a bit of work though, but if you're interested I can tell a bit more about my experience on how to make them.

Yes, please. I really dont want to try and reinvent the wheel if someone has experience with this. I read somewhere that the size per individual tile should be around 16mmX16mm I'm not sure what that would make the whole tile though including the border and spaces between individual tiles.

Re: shrinking tiles down for 10mm miniatures
well, it's a draft version I once wrote because I couldn't find anything about this on the web. I put it on my website, it's a bit big to paste here:
how to make game boards
About the scale: it doesn't really matter that much, because the exact measures aren't important (like they are in Warhammer/Mordheim). But if you want to be true to the scale: normal squares are about 30x30mm. Since you're going from 28mm to 10mm miniatures, the squares should be resized to about 10x10mm - that's pretty small.
The gaps from the doors are about 1 square, so that's easy enough; though I don't think it's a big problem if you leave them out, as long as it's clear where the door is.

Thanks for the link I'm gonna give it a try and hopefully it wont come out to bad, found pendraken miniatures and planning to use them for the replacment mini's in that scale. Saw a nice little conversion of warhammer quest spiders and their barbarian line. little 10mm driders.

Re: shrinking tiles down for 10mm miniatures
If you're really interested in portability (I gave up) maybe you should find a Heroquest type game that has a boardgame-style layout instead of tiles and then play that way.
Another idea is the dry erase boards that roll-up for D&D miniature gaming (I use one as a tablecloth :b)
Speaking of D&D Miniatures, the base set is $20 US and comes with some great board sections...

Re: shrinking tiles down for 10mm miniatures
Looks like it's not going to be all that hard to make the tiles smaller. Kinda fooling around in photoshop and messing with the image size, just have to tweak it. Ordered some pendraken miniatures so I can look at it on the printed tile and see how they look in size, cant wait to get my hands on them. I gave some thought to heroquest but then the board would still be something that wouldnt be really portable. Doing warhammer quest in this scale I figure I finally have something that will fit in my captain america lunchbox LOL.
