Making WHQ board sections + cards
Hey,
Does anyone have any tips on how to make cards and board sections once you have printed them off the net? In particular I could do with knowing how to make dungeon cards authentic so that you can't tell what kind of room is coming up before you trun the card over.
Obviously I can scan and reprint the back of one of the origanal cards but I am still going to be able to tell that it's a made up card when I am playing.
Any ideas, suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
I have had the same problem but haven't really found a solution. The only answer I came up with was scanning and printing the original cards too so that they all look the same.

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
Hi, we had the same problem; I printed all the cards out, like grogling said, but a friend of mine bought these little plastic sheets (from the collectible card games, to put the cards in) where the back is colored, so you cant see what card it contains until you reveal the card. Its very useful, although not the cheapest solution maybe. (but it saves ink )
I didnt understand your problem with the board sections, btw. You mean how to make them "playable" after printing out?
@all: the new (very nice indeed) Logo needs such a lot of space (the half of my monitor is covered until the forum begins), is this normal? It causes a somewhat pressed feeling (or maybe somewhat impressed ), there is not much room for reading and writing the posts. Will it stay so? (maybe after some while it doesnt bother anymore).

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
GREAT IDEA!! nice1
as for your forum problem RIGHT click on the forum link on the WHQ museum page and select "open in new window" that gets rid of the massive title
Cheers,

You can bought deck protector black for room, red for treasure...

Yes, we make it so like Bruno said, with different colors.
And yes, Bruno, now the Logo is an excellent one!

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
to fix this u could just design ur self a table for rolling for board sections i found one on sum whq site but i no its out there sumwhere its was designed pretty well it was heaps hard to get the dungeon room and that kinda stuff and keeps more monsters cummin instead of heaps of corridors

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
i got overrun by heaps of monsters and lost my character that way - i think i'd personally prefer more corridors LOL but that's just for that example
ooh yes, we use Deck Protectors for our Magic cards and other CCG games too - they can be bought for about 5p each so a pack of 100 will cost about £5-6 if you buy several at once.

Re: Making WHQ board sections + cards
Call me a geek... But I look forward to playing this game FOREVER... so here's what I did:
For EVERYTHING in WQ that uses a card (spells, events, treasure... etc.,) I duplicated them on my computer and formatted the sheet to print onto 4 x 6" index card sheets.
I enlarged the faces to look good on the larger cards too.
This type of card allows me more space when creating custom cards, and it also allowed me to make cards for 'between adventure events' instead of rolling a d66. You can copy the Brockhouse events and paste into the text box... voila... instant event!
The problem is that it still takes a lot of time to print, but NO CUTTING!!!
This also allows me to make 'custom campaign' decks as well. Rather than just using the entire selection, or sorting ahead of time, I simply make a new card face for the campaign and print up what I need.
Like I said... call me a geek!
