Re: Runesmith Warrior

Reviving quite an old thread, I know emoticon
But I thought about adding another dwarf to my pool of warriors, and so I found Peter's Runesmith most interesting ](see here).
Has anyone ever used this warrior and playtested him?
My first impression was that he looks quite strong. With almost the same profile as the original Dwarf he is a good fighter. Besides he can use his runestaff and chants for powerful magic (or kind of) and for healing. So, compared to the Warrior Priest (chants are similar to blessings) he seems by far much stronger AND he can use armour as well.

Yes, I have played this Runesmith's Apprentice and play with others who play the character as well. I think him very balanced (at least at level 1 -- haven't played much beyond that with him) and he seems rather popular in the games I play. I would encourage you to try him out. He is slightly better than the Elf Ranger Mage for healing at level 1, because of the aspect of rolling a 1D6 to see how many wounds he heals and then sharing them out among the Warriors as he sees fit.
