Question about bases sizes

Hello WQ team!

I have a question about base sizes. What are the official rules for monster's base sizes? As far as I know, there are none, except for Large Monsters, which take up 2 by 2. The minotaurs you get in the original WQ box take up 1 square, yet other GW minotaurs take up 4 squares. In our games, we let the bases that the miniature is on dictate how big they are, but that isn't an official rule is it...? For example, if you wanted to put a war boar on a 1 by 1 base, theres no rules against that is there? Or you could put him on a 2 by 2 base if you wanted lots of scenery on the base. In other words, it doesn't matter what base size of a miniature is, because each monster doesn't have base size stats in the Roleplay book.

Am I correct, or am I babbling incoherently...?

I think you can go on and play the way you feel like when it comes to base sizes. Just go with the rule that a monster that takes up 2 times 2 squares is a big monster and all the other monsters are not.

It is your game and you should do what you think feels best about it.

There are no official rules on Monster base sizes. Unless it pops up in an odd location in a Deathblow or miscellaneous paper with the box set. It’s pretty obvious that all the large monsters (Manicores, Liche) take up four by four squares.

I’ve had similar thoughts about the models that take up two squares myself. My opinion has been to keep them a normal models, but this is because I’m using Direwolves.
