I love the friendly giant... but I fear to playtest him. He does look superpowered, despite his disadvantages. But, this is only my opinion after a quick read through.
Looks great to role-play, though.

Hmm... I like the giant, except for his Attacks value. With the potential to cause more damage than his stats indicate 2/3 of the time (Giant Attack rolls 3-6), the Friendly Giant's attacks should be gravely limited. Then again, I haven't seen everything, perhaps I'm wrong.

Ah, Mr. Franklin makes an admirable point about the event table. Too many times have my overwhelmed parties of warriors developed a massive interest in translating nearby Orc runes. This is a table that belongs in the We're-too-lazy-to-get-back-to-work-on-it 2nd Edition of Warhammer Quest.

Thanks for the quick post of my Events table Bruno - I've been winging this chart for two years, so it's well playtested, but now that it's codified I like it better.

I know this is like an ancient post now, but came across it while doing a search for Combat Events; AND, since I am the originator of the Friendly Giant, I want to point out that I have modified one rule.

The Dried Mule & Horse Meat can no longer be eaten when he falls to ZERO Wounds. Now I am not telling everyone else how to play the Friendly Giant, but I recommend you adopt this revision of his rules. I made the change to be more consistent in my gaming group, since I decided I should NO longer allow the Trollslayer to eat his Stonebread after falling to ZERO Wounds. emoticon
