This reward, as I understand it, takes the place of the various rewards mentioned at the end of each adventure in the Adventure Book. As for any Unexpected Events (producing monsters) that happen during the final combat, I always assume that those are normal events that get the normal Dungeon Room Treasures in addition to the Objective Room Treasures. However, in regard to the number of Objective Room Treasures, I feel that one for each warrior is generally a bit too much for the balance of the game. Also, I think that the warriors get far too many powerful treasures (and too often) under the original system. This is all assuming that they have survived at least one or two adventures already and have acquired some useful items and skills along the way. So, I have developed a special table to roll on at the end of each adventure to see what the warriors will get. When using this table, the result I intend to be shared among the party (one roll for the whole party). Objective Treasure Type Table Roll 1D6: 1 - Treasure (or reward) specified in Adventure Book 2 - Roll Once on Weapons and Armour Table in Roleplay Book 3 - Roll Once on Magic Items Table in Roleplay Book 4 - Roll Twice on Weapons and Armour Table in Roleplay Book 5 - Roll Once on Objective Room Treasure Table in Roleplay Book 6 - Roll Twice on Objective Room Treasure Table in Roleplay Book To see this in a nice formatted version click on the link at the end of this post. Compared to the normal WHQ system this would seem quite weak, but I also use The Treasure Tome by Phil for most of my normal Dungeon Room Treasures. Therefore, my above table roll will usually give the warriors a much better treasure than they get for a normal event. Also, by using the Treasure Tome, there is some possibility of actually receiving an Objective Room Treasure for a normal dungeon event. Here is a link to The Treasure Tome for any that have not seen it: http://wquest.free.fr/rules_view.php?id_rules=63 This is an excellent place to promote my Objective Room Treasure Type Table (nicer format). I tend to use this for my solo games and for the games I GM in Webquest. Words explaining its purpose and usage are in the document. http://wquest.free.fr/rules_view.php?id_rules=138 nondisclosed_email@example.com (OldWarrior)Sat, 24 Jun 2006 07:27:54 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555392,from=rss#post555392https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555392,from=rss#post555392I know this is an ancient thread, but here's the way my group plays: When the party has defeated the monsters in the Objective Room, the party recieves the following to be split up as equitably as possible: 1 Objective Room Treasure 1 random treasure per roll on the Monster table to determine what guarded the room. I find this approach both rewards the party as a whole (usually everyone gets something), but it also keep the Objective Treasure rare, which is more fun. I play with a group of Witch Hunters, and we have a few choice weapons we want, and the majority of the rest of the treasure is almost always sold. We still dont play with this advanced objective room monster table, and without objective room treasures, so we dont encounter monsters with 2 levels higher (sounds terrible). Thanks again!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Matja)Mon, 21 Mar 2005 23:05:15 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555390,from=rss#post555390https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555390,from=rss#post555390A normal treasure is given when a group of monsters in the dungeon is slain. Since the monsters in the Objective room are tougher (2 levels above yours if you're don't roll a 11 or a 66), it's only normal that the reward for beating them is greater too. but instead of getting one normal treasure, each (surviving) warrior gets an Objective room treasure when they kill the monsters... or if they survive (although I wouldn't give any Objective room treasure in a basic game just yet). It's explained on the page with the Objective room treasure (page 72) of the Roleplay book. Hope this helps to clarify it.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sudden Real)Mon, 21 Mar 2005 15:42:51 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555389,from=rss#post555389https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555389,from=rss#post555389Sorry, still didnt understand this. Do you mean, that you always receive a treasure for reaching or surviving an objective-room? I only know the treasures, that are stated in the descriptions for every quest, for instance the "Free the prisoners" quest in the Fighting Pit. It says, roll 1D6x20 like reward. Its very few, i know. But there is stated nothing more. So we only received this money. Do you now still give a treasure card to every warrior? And when, for what? Greetings! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Matja)Sun, 20 Mar 2005 22:18:39 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555388,from=rss#post555388https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555388,from=rss#post555388The way I play it the objective room treasure isn't a reward, it's something you find in stead of a normal treasure. Meaning if you will get a reward of 5 gold, after cleaning out the Objective room you each get a piece of Objective room treasure and afterwards. When you go collect, you get 5 gold (and/or any other treasure that's stated as reward, which is normal treasure). Of course, when you get an unexpected event while in the Objective room, you just get a normal treasure for that encounter, since it's just another unexpected event. Hope this helps.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sudden Real)Sun, 20 Mar 2005 22:03:45 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555387,from=rss#post555387https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555387,from=rss#post555387Just was reading this post, and dont know if I understood all. We are playing the campaign without gamemaster, still linking together the adventures coming in the adventure book. Here we only receive treasure cards in an objective room, if it states so in the quest. Well, so I understood the rules. Meaning, if it says, the warriors are rewarded with xGold, thats all, no treasure card for killing the objective-room monsters. Have I understood it right? Any additional treasure (from rewards such as that Return of the Crown) is normal treasure. There are four reasons for this: 1) My parties have an uncanny nack for survival. If they die, it's in the first four rooms of Karak Azgal or the last one of the first floor and almost never again. 2) I have left the instructions of how many treasures they get very open-ended, so that they could interepert the rules either way, and they never choose one per warrior, and never approve of the real system after they are told. 3) There are 36 Objective Room items in the chart and a few unique cards. Every item would have been found fourfold by teh people I play with if I went around with one per warrior. 4) Even with my system, my warriors sell 60% of the objective room treasures they recieve. They just don't need them. With regard to the extra treasure, we play it as a dungeon room treasure. I cannot recall, however, if this is an assumption on our part or if there was a rule somewhere to lead us to this interpretation. Regardless, an extra objective room treasure seems over powered given that the normal ways of generating extra objective room treasures involve great difficulty (playing in Lustria, and Pits and Traps come to mind).nondisclosed_email@example.com (Morlicar)Thu, 29 Jul 2004 01:38:13 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555380,from=rss#post555380https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555380,from=rss#post555380The way we play: When we defeat the monsters in the adventure's objective room, each warrior gets one objective room treasure (p. 72). If we go to an objective room by dungeon event 51 (footprints), nobody gets an objective room treasure, but just the 1000 gold each. If we get to an objective room by dungeon event 55 (secret door), the whole party gets only one objective room treasure.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Documn)Wed, 28 Jul 2004 01:04:43 +0000 Re: Objective Room Treasurehttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555379,from=rss#post555379https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p555379,from=rss#post555379Personally I always have a trouble with this rule so I decided to play this way If the adventure book states you receive a treasure, I rule on the objective Room treasure table. Upon dealing with the contents of the objective room the Warriors normally get a Treasure card. Now you are using the Treasure Tables, however, you should instead roll a D66 on the following table for each surviving Warrior to determine the precise nature of the treasure he has found. The items are split up between the Warriors in the most appropriate fashion. Does this mean that each warrior gets a roll on the table every objective room (like the footprints event) or just the final one? Is this in addition to whatever they get from completing the adventure? For example "Return the Crown" from the adventure book states that the warriors each get a treasure card (should this be objective room treasure?), so do the warriors get 2 rolls on the objective room treasure table in this case (once when defeating the monsters in the objective room and once when they bring the crown to the king)?
