Warhammer Quest scenery.
I was just wondering if there was anywhere people could post images of the stuff they'd created for Warhammer Quest. As soon as Games Workshop stopped making expansion packs and figures for it I began making my own scenery and think it would be really good to see what other things people have come up with. Also I’m not sure how everyone else plays the game in between dungeons, but we usually play using the battle board which is supposed to be used for playing Games Workshops battle game Warhammer. If any one else does the same then it would be really good to see what they’ve done to make the game more interesting.

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
By Battle Board, do you mean the map that came with the "Warhammer General's Compendium" book? or is it something else? Because I've seen rules for combining Warhammer Quest with a Mighty Empires campaign online, and that looks like a very fun way to play...
I have Mighty Empires hexes but so far have not mounted them on magnets for long-term play like I've always wanted to do...

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
Some people call it a gameboard but its basically just the table which Warhammer is played on. Alot of gamers use just a green cloth with objects placed on it to represent terrain but if you can spare the time making good scenery its really good for visting settlements in Warhammer Quest.

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
WOW Like a whole city built with tiles like in the dungeons? that sounds cool!! Cities can be as much of an adventure/hazard as a dungeon. How have you done this? I think the only city kind of scenery I've played on was an aerial view of a bar (Ye old Inn). It was fun

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
When we are playing in area's which are outside we decided to make each character moves around about 4" so you don't need to use a tile system. That way you can make realy realistic scenes without having to worry to much about how players can move around objects and things. Alot of it's made up on the spot so if some one wants to go and look at an old gravestone on the other side of the board and no monsters are about then we don't bother spending 5 turns getting there.
Most of its really just used to set the scene so you feel you've actualy achived something instead of just turning up in the first dungeon section.

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
I haven't done anything outdoorsy in quite awhile. However, it's pretty easy to run around outside if you steal a lot of rules from Mordheim. For example, the reason everyone moves 4" in WHQ is because it's dark and no one wants to stub a toe. Outside, Warriors can run 8" if they need to and charge and hide behind things and all that stuff. I prob should run a campaign like that to break up the pace next time I get a full group - it would give Warriors a chance to be more creative with their skills!

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
I made a massive mountain range out of ALOT of plaster and assorted things. It's HUGE. It can barely fit through doors :P It is alot of fun to play on My problem is where I should keep it... I was very excited to build an Egyptian temple (like Dendur maybe) but I guess I will have to figure out how to make it sectional WAAAHH. Anyway scenery building adds alot to the game I just can't find a spot for the mountains!!

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
Don't know if this is what you meant with the topic, but as I live in Argentina and here the Ink its expensive, I have begun making my own "Warhammer Quest Boards". I'm using ..... don't know the enlgish word =P, "the thng that's used to make boxes" and "madera balsa", a kind of Wood thats easy to cut.
That wat the game it's no longer 2D, buts fully 3D. I don't have much time doing it, but I think that the final result can be quite amaizing (particulary the Objective Rooms).
Try it!

Re: Warhammer Quest scenery.
YES! Like in the Metropolitan! I have alot of great books on Egyptian architecture, that I was planning on using as guides to build a sectional multi level dungeon. not quite sure how it will work yet. I have gotten styrocore as the building material. I have many plans for traps and I am excited about doing the artwork too.
Im not sure also how it will work campaign wise but hey adventureres can go exploring
I also ahd a plan to make a multi level board out of different kinds of plexiglass plastics for a futuristic version (or maybe robo runner) but thats a bit off topic...
