posticon SUPER-OGRE!

Ever wanted to beef up your Ogres? Nah, me neither. But just in case you did, here's some fresh Ogre special rules, fresh from Warhammer Armies: Ogre Kingdoms, to beef up your higher-level dungeons (no, I'm not adding every unit type. Just a few rules). Note that these rules (already) leech off of a few 2nd Edition changes (Critical hits).

Bull Charge
When combat begins, Ogres cause an automatic hit on all Warriors directly in front of them. They also do this again if they move at least 4 squares into combat. Don't run from an ogre without a horse!

Ogre Club or Ironfist
Ogres have two classics means of fighting, with a big stick or a big fist. Decide what the entire group of Ogres is armed with at the start of the battle. Ogre Clubs ignore one point of opponent's armour and can re-roll on the Critical Hits table. The Ironfist is +1 Armour and Attack for the Ogre.

Gnoblars
Gnoblars are the lowest of the greenskins. They are just above dirt and just below grass when it comes to the chain of power in the Mountains of Mourn. But they prove useful all the same to their Ogre Masters.

Special Rules: Accompany Ogres, Break, Fear Ogres, Gang Up, Filch, Sharp Stuff

Accompany Ogres
D6 Gnoblars accompany each Ogre in a group (roll individually for each Ogre).

Fear Ogres
Gnoblars fear all Ogres, even the Warriors' Ogres. This fear is so strong that each Gnoblar ignores their Break skill if there are still enemy Ogres standing. If the enemy has no more Ogres and hte warriors still do, the Gnoblars Automatically Break.

Gang Up
Gnoblars can Gang Up with one another, but they can also Gang Up to aid the attack of an Ogre! The Gnoblars do not attack in the turns they use this technique to aid an Ogre, which they will do whenever given the opportunity.

Filch
If there are no Ogres to assist, the Gnoblars will start to filch things from the bags of warriors. Any pinned warriorcan be Filched - have both the player and the Gnoblars roll a D6. Both sides add their I and the Gnoblar may add 1 for each assisting Gnoblar like any characteristic test (but on the monster's side!). If they succeed, one of the Gnoblars takes a random item and runs. Note that this item can be the lantern! However, the Gnoblar will soon realise his Goboffian mistake and drop it in the next Room or the Objective Room (even if they're already there). If the warriors must flee without hte lantern, it will cost 100 Gold or all they have to replace in town. Note that filching and assisting Gnoblars have no pinning zone - someone must fight the warrior!

Sharp Stuff
Every unpinned Gnoblar may, if they are not assiting another, throw Sharp Stuff at any warrior within 4 squares. This amounts to 2 Strength 2 missile attacks a turn :P

Super Ogres!! Wow, causing an automatic hit against all Warriors in front of them is very powerful. I'd make sure my Warrior hid in the back while my fellow Warriors got pummelled in front emoticon

Re: SUPER-OGRE!

No, I haven't tried them yet, Bruno, but I intend to next week after my exams (them and Vs. Quest).

Ogre Kingdoms dungeons are the second-last (after Formers) bastion of, erm, realistic questing. Let's face it, 2 Grey Seers and 3 Deathmasters, a Demon Prince behind the next door? A BL 10 dungeon is a shard of the Chaos Warp, make no mistake! So I intend to give them all a thorough look-see, Leadbelchers and all.

BOOM! Hur, hur, hur... :bad:

Groovy emoticon
I'm having thoughts of trying to get my hands on one of those ogre kingdom battallions (or the army box, but that feels a little bit insane...) and go through an ogre dungeon, it would quite a challange to face with six ogres at once...
