Dwarf Rules and Query
After much eBaying I've finally managed to get hold of a complete copy of WHM Quest. However, the Dwarf Profile card was missing. I can't find his special rules and equipment/weapon/armour on the internet - can someone tell me what they are? I've already got his stats (they're in the Roleplay book).
Also, the party I run has an Ogre (his extra power rolls ensure the Imperial Noble has enough to fight), and coupled with my dice-rolling skill in the 'roll a 1 phase', we've managed to run through the entire deck of event cards before reaching the Objective room. (In one game we had six encounters in the very first room!) By that point both Ogre and Noble (level 1s) had collected over 2000 gold that adventure (Ogre deathblowed minotaur with Blade of Slicing!), so we decided that we'd killed everything in the dungeon and ignored further 1s in the power phase (we also didn't have any other rooms left to visit).
Once you've played all the event cards, do you shuffle them and start dealing again?

He has:
-Great Axe, to hit=Normal, to wound= roll two dices and pick the greatest
-Rope. (se the General Store)

Re: Dwarf Rules and Query
The other thing about the axe
-If the extra dice matches, add them together
-If both dice come up 1, the dwarf has tripped over his beard and misses his turn.
As for events, yes, you may as well run them again. You wouldn't want to make it too easy... :bad:

And the enemies are a +1 to hit against him.
(if he rolled double 1's)

Here's a link to profile cards
Profile Cards
Hope it'll help
Continue to play the one, it's important to add spicy to your adventures.
By the way sometimes you stay very long time in the Objective room. That'(s part of the game.

Re: Dwarf Rules and Query
But spending three hours in the very first corridor of the game is a bit excessive. In contrast the Objective room is much easier to complete (largely because by that time we've run through the Events deck twice and cannot be bothered to draw any more).

Seems to be feast or famine with our games too. Though we've yet to actually cycle through the entire event deck. (Our event deck is 25cards, not the usual (19?)). We will go 1/2 the dungeon with maybe 1 - 2 random events then boom a chain reaction happens. I found it exciting, but the marathon events happening in one room can get a bit old. We alternate around the table for the Wizard Power rolls, because some of us can't help but roll a 1 70% or the time.
You could require a second role of a 1-2(if a 1 was rolled during the power phase) after X amount of events happening in one place.
[or]
You may want to just use the Event card deck to know if you pull an (E) and roll on the appropriatye tables in the Roleplay book for Events its a much larger variety. Or better yet, simply make a table of your own with what you feel is properly themed for the dungeon(s).
-Floyd
We've currently been using a mix of new characters for Dungeon Exploration also. Ogre,Withchunter,ChaosWarrior,Mage and Halfling(can't go without this dude. He pulls 3x the amount of treasure cards).
ps. By battle levels 2-3 we are mixing in a champ/boss or shaman for whatever creature type we pull. And we use the extra rules(such as fear, etc). And we also give the opportunity to make initiative(or appropriate stat) tests to pass/fail non-monster events. Or whatever seems appropriate at the time(But we don't use a GM for our games).

Roll a 1 phase
We have an Ogre (UE on same roll as the wizard)+ a Chaos Warrior with a bewitched blade (UE on 1 and 2), but when an Unexpected Event occurs(with these odds you might well call it an UE when nothing happens) I roll on an extra table:
1-3 roll on d66 Events table (traps, encounters, etc.)
4-5 roll on d66 Monster table
(11 and 66 also result in nothing happening)
6 Lucky: Nothing happens after all.
As we are playing The Catacombs of Terror and I want to have the game flowing I sometimes cheat with the throw for the Ogre(I am playing him aswell as being GM), just ignoring equal throws when I want to. I do them behind my screen, so nobody knows :-)

Re: Dwarf Rules and Query
hi guys, i was just thinking...
what happens if a battle level 2, or BL3 dwarf uses a Great Axe... does he still trip up if he rolls a double 1, even when he rolls extra dice for picking?
