Bandages/Provisions

Hello

Can someone tell me what the advantages of using provisions over bandages is? Because as far as i can tell they are the same price, heal less wounds, and are more likely to perish?

Cheers

Offhand, Provisions can be eaten as food(See GM run campaigns and starvation), and are more likely to be in stock at a general store.

I agree. So if funds are limited go for bandages (unless you're a halfling) but otherwise, anything helps.

You can't heal someone at 0 wounds with provisions...
It's not the same price.

I always thought provisions were a fall back when you couldn't buy bandages. The only real difference was the stock roll except where the Halfling thief was concerned. That and the fact that bandages might be reuseable.

Bandages are reusable (dice luck), provisions not.

Bandages restore 3wounds, provisions only 2.

Chance to buy Bandages is lower (7) than to buy provisions (5).

You CANNOT use bandages or provisions to heal YOURSELF if you are at 0 wounds, but others can use BOTH of them to attempt healing you if you are at 0 wounds.

Just stuff them into your fallen comrades mouth and hope he doesn't choke... the provisions of course, not the bandages...

It's stupid, I know, but them's the rules. Of course, as posted above, a DM can rule you need provisions so you don't starve, and that trying to heal a guy buy forcefeeding him might be a bad idea.

Haha, yes it's always been a struggle explaining that. I tend to explain it as being the enlivening effect of strong cheese.

The cheese could be so strong that it acts like a smelling salt.
