wizard's power tokens

Maybe a newbie question but still; the amount of powers token that represent the wizard "inner magical" reserve, are lost when used.
But are they again availably the next adventure?

The Wizard regains his lost power tokens at the start of the next adventure. During his questing, he has the time to meditate, rest or whatever they do to clear their mind.

Although not in the rules, I'd like the wizard to regain powertokens during the quest.
Anyone an idea what would be fair?

I'm considering to allow a powertoken to be regained whenever the winds of magic roll is 6 AND the wizard doesn't cast any spell. Or maybe that should be every second 6?

I don't think it's fair unless the party uses door spikes to wall off a room and everyone rests for 8 hours. (I always wonder why my players never ask to try that and instead soldier on to their deaths in tough dungeons. Regroup peoples!)

Just my opinion, but by Battle-level 3, the average Wizard has a spell or two that he could keep blasting away with while his companions only have a few Attacks.

On the other hand, you may like my Sorcerer class; he's popular at my gaming table because he can store Power even more than you asked for. Of course, he is gonna get SPANKED by my new Insanity and spellcasting rules :bad:

Re: wizard's power tokens

Martin, the Old Warrior here,

I agree with Bass Jam.

Maybe in the absence of door spikes the warriors could take turns guarding the door(s) while the others rested. Perhaps a Resting Events Table could be created for what really bad or not-so-bad things could happen during the different watches of the rest period.

Also I think that there should be a limit to how long the warriors might rest (perhaps 8 hours the limit). They really must continue with their mission AND the monsters may eventually figure out a way to get to them (call in the Stone Trolls and Ogres or worse to break down the doors!).

I suggest perhaps 1D6+BL of power tokens restored for a certain period of time (6 or 8 hours), or perhaps 1 token for every hour (up to the wizard's maximum) for the whole period of time.

And, the idea of regrouping is very important. A wise warrior would not rush into battle at only 50% or less of his health, for example. Of course, sometimes the monsters may not give him a choice.

I believe this also relates partly to the draining of the wizard's power tokens to begin with. If the warriors would be more patient to wait for a better power roll and/or to heal up BEFORE entering a new section, then the wizard (and any other healer types) wouldn't be as hard pressed to try to eek out a little more healing (at the cost of precious tokens). I know it is hard to wait for healing when one would rather be exploring, fighting, and etc., but death comes earlier many times for the more wreckless.

I really like the sorcerer class with the constant restorationg of personal power and casting out of the power store instead of out of the current power roll. The Sorcerer, BassJam's comments helped to lead to my attempt at creating the Aes Sedai (a channeler) type of magic user.

I am glad I don't have to play under BassJam's Insane Insanity rules... hehe. Just kidding, BassJam. emoticon I actually tend to agree that there should be some type of consequences for all this wielding of magical powers. I am just not as apt to try to implement it myself.
