Re: WHQ 2nd Ed - Linking Games (what a concept)

The point to having a pre-death resurrection spell cast would be that it saves the wizard from the annoying event where he does not have enough power remaining for some reason to cast a healing spell before a warrior is reduced to zero wounds, or if a monster has some ability that prevents spellcasting. If a monster happens to dispel your healing spell, what then?

I know that spell prevention phenomena aren't that common particularly at lower levels, but it could have its uses, and there are certainly times when a monster causes more wounds than a less than 6 power point healing spell could possibly heal.

Re: WHQ 2nd Ed - Linking Games (what a concept)

The death is a very import part in WHQ's games. I am against post spell (it's why I hate the Elf Ranger spells and I don't use the light mage from Greywolf).
Chills of death must be keepen. If you prevent death what will rest? unvulnerable warrior?
If we begin effect like magic we will lost the dilmena of decision like must I cast my healing spells now or wait first the attack of this monster?

It's just my opinion.

Re: WHQ 2nd Ed - Linking Games (what a concept)

Well, when you put it that way...

Yeah, a spell with a lasting effect could be a little bit unbalancing, but as an alternative to full blown resurrection...

Resurrection should be possible, it just needs to be really difficult to manage. Personally I think it should be the domain of the Gods, rather than of any wizard.

Personally, I don't like the idea of casting a healing spell in response to a monster's attack (how quickly can the wizard react and cast spells anyway? He's probably defending himself at the same time here...), and in my own games, I use a table similar to Necromunda's, where warriors who go 'down' (when reduced to zero wounds) have the possibility of dying at the end of the turn, remaining unconscious in a dangerous condition, or stabilising to 1 wound, yet remaining prone and unable to act until they are properly healed (usually to at least 50% wounds). We play with rules whereby the wizard has less leeway as to when he can actually cast healing spells, and we disallow the use of provisions and bandages by pinned warriors, and all healing items by pinned warriors on downed warriors, so it is much more necessary that warriors be able to survive more than one turn on zero wounds. Works for us, maybe it's a little too picky for what you guys are considering.

It's the most difficult part in revised rules.
We must keep the funniest game of the world.
Could you share with us the complete version of your rules. This table from Necromunda seems very interesting? Did you use negative points?

Thanks for your help.

Just to interject on Bruno's account: burlububu@[sign in to see URL]
It's mentioned elsewhere on the board, so I don't suppose he'll mind me saying.

Bovinleave, I received your email with your rules but I can't opened it. Could you send me back in txt or doc file, please.

Thanks a lot. I'll prepare an update for the museum with your rule (when I received it emoticon)

I hope you' ll find some time to type your unconscious table.
