I like the concept of facing increasingly more difficult and/or more numerous monsters with no other types of events and no way out. I think this is an excellent way to test the mettle of all sorts of warriors. Therefore, I am offering to host one of these games here in my message board. Just to be clear: your warriors will die in this game -- no question about it. The main purpose of the game is to see how long they can last and/or to give a warrior type a test run. This game type was originally developed especially to help players to legitimately "get rid" of unwanted warriors in Webquest in order to open up the warrior slot for another warrior. In my message board it will provide a different type of WQ game to play. So, after reading the details here, if you want to play, please let me know within one week. The 29th of Novemeber will be the last day to let me know, unless we don't have enough players yet by that time. Rules The game will follow my special Annihilation Station Rules, which vary somewhat from Old Warrior Rules. Please follow both of those links if you want to know the rules of the game. Monsters I have previously not shared the monster tables I use for this type of game, but make them available here for those wanting to know (or to use for your own purposes). However, if you would rather be totally surprised, I recommend not previewing the monster tables. I will be expanding (as able) these tables to include all 10 levels found in the RPB. At the time I created them there were only Levels 1 through 3 available in our beloved Webquest, which was closed down. Annihilation Station Monster Tables Who May Play This game will be on a first come, first served basis, except that I will give preference to those who are controlling the least number of warriors in the games hosted here. In other words, if only four players want to join, then they are all in. If five want to join, and one controls 7 warriors already, but the others only control 3 to 5, then the 7-warrior player would be last on the list. I will only allow four warriors at this point, but might make an exception after the first party perishes. Perpetuity If this game maintains interest, I will likely start it all over again with four new warriors each time the current party perishes. At that point, I will let those who haven't yet played this type of game here have the preference to join it. Types of Warriors Allowed Any type of warrior found in the Stronghold (see Custom Characters page) or any official/semi-official warrior may join this game. So, the player has about 100 or more warrior types to choose from. Official/Semi-Official Warriors: Bretonnian Knight Chaos Warrior Elf Ranger (Knight or Mage) Halfling Thief Imperial Noble Kislevite Shaman Ogre Pit Fighter Warrior Priest Witch Hunter Wardancer Warrior Level/Dungeon Level A new twist on this game that I haven't tried yet will be that I will let the players vote for the Warrior Level/Dungeon Level (same number for both) that they want to play. I will add the levels up and divide by four. If it is a tie between two levels, I will do a random roll to determine. However, please keep in mind that the monsters would definitely have to be tougher at higher levels, unless the players would prefer to start out with BL 1 monsters. In which case, it would just take longer to play to the end of the warriors's lives. How this will work out: Once the Warrior Level/Dungeon Level is determined, I will artificially generate the warriors at that level, giving them random stuffs, skills, treasures, and etc. based upon thier rules and the RPB. I will also give them a certain number of random usable Treasures and Objective Treasures and gold to spend in the shops and special locations based upon the level. There will be some limitations on how they can spend the money though -- such as, a Pit Fighter would not be allowed to have more than 2 per battle-level of Heal-It Potions (I would also require 500 gold to be spent on each of them). Other perishable items would be limited as well, such as provisions, bandage, and etc.... In some instances for some warrior types, where choices would be available in the warrior's development, I would let the player choose -- such as a possible choice in skills/spells. A Wizard would have much freedom in choosing his spells based upon the usual leveling method. In which case, I would release to the player one set of training spell dice results to be decided before knowing the next set of results, and so on. Please note that I will randomly roll the treasures based upon my usual system until the required number of usable items are obtained. The treasures may or may not be as nice as the original treasure tables in the RPB. Also, there will be no in-between adventure travels and no means of gaining new levels (except for a very few warrior types, such as the Changling, who advances a level whenever his experience reaches the required number), because the warriors cannot escape the dungeon in which they are magically trapped. Here are the level choices and the treasure/gold spending benefits. nondisclosed_email@example.com (OldWarrior)Wed, 22 Nov 2006 17:51:00 +0000 Re: New Game in OW Message Boardhttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p558628,from=rss#post558628https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p558628,from=rss#post558628I have joined this game myself now using my Testimany Runboard ID. I say one or two, because I might play one of the warriors myself if we do not have all four players soon. http://com2.runboard.com/bwqwhqoldwarrior.fventuringintotheoldworld.t2 At the time of this post we have: Cutlass, who will play a Wardancer Semmons99, who will play a Wizard EDIT: Now, thecustodian has joined as a Witch Hunter. We could use one more player... or I will join myself as the fourth one. Finally, I joined as a Martial Artist.nondisclosed_email@example.com (OldWarrior)Wed, 09 Aug 2006 07:23:04 +0000
