Lucky Talisman vs Battle Stone of Le Marquis

In the base game, there is a treasure card which allows you to automatically succeed in a hit (lucky talisman) it is worth 150gold.

In the first treasure pack, there is a the stone of le marquis, which seems to do the same thing - one attack per adventure automatically hits. Except this item is worth 500 gold and is an Objective room treasure.

Is there a reason for the difference?
Do you think this item is worth 150 or 500?

Maybe if you had something like collect multiple stone of le marquis, combined they will have additional effects?

Re: Lucky Talisman vs Battle Stone of Le Marquis

Note: I am not very familiar with the Stone of le Marquis treasure itself, though I did see that treasure several years ago. I don't have the treasure card packs myself.

But, I have also noticed in the RolePlay Book (RPB) under the Dungeon Room Treasure section that there are two swords with the exact same effects:

Sword of Ensorcelled Iron worth 150 gold -- +1 to hit

AND

Relic Blade worth 400 gold -- +1 to hit

It seems to me that the gold value assigned to the treasures was somewhat based upon what a treasure could do AND somewhat based upon the name and/or reputation of the item. In other words, I think the game creators wanted to instill an aspect of value based upon the Warhammer World people's perception of an item's value.

In my thinking, the Lucky Talisman doesn't seem to quite have as much of a "rich" sound to it as does the Stone of le Marquis.

As for giving some added benefit for having more than one Stone of le Marquis, I am personally in favor of doing such things. Of course, I also have a website devoted to loads of custom Warhammer Quest stuff. emoticon

I might suggest for a combined effect something like (just a couple ideas off the top of my head):

With two of them -- automatic hit plus add 1D6 to the damage roll

With three of them -- automatic hit, add 1D6 to the damage roll, plus ignore the opponent's armour

Another idea: using two of them at the same time might enable a warrior to hit with better accuracy for a whole combat! -- like +1 (or even +2 -- or maybe +2 if using three) to hit for the combat. If this were allowed, it could help in some difficult battles where the warriors seldom are able to hit there opponents.

There are other treasures, that are worth lot of gold but the artifact itself sometimes is quite useless for higher levels. In my opinion its just flavor and the gold value is the important one. You may sell the Battle stone to get the 500 Gold and stay with the talisman. They could have made the card: "a bag containing 500 Gold", but LeMarquis sounds much better emoticon.

I agree there is sometimes huge discrepancies between the resale value of items that are found as treasure, and your right its probably mainly to do with adding 'flavour' rather than what an item is worth

(eg the objective room treasure pistol & shot - found in treasure pack 3 - can be sold for 1000 gold, but the brace of pistols which you buy in the roleplay book is way better, but sells for only 600 gold!)
(and weapons/armor purchased in the roleplay book generally sell for almost nothing)
