-thanks

You might consider picking this up for your Forum based games. You can take screenshots; as i've done here, & post them to track Warrior/Monster movement.

It can be saved Turn by turn ass well.

Thanks for the info. I am trying out the demo now. It seems it will take some getting used to (for me anyway), so I will try to work with it a while to give it a fair eval.

It was a little strange at first for me too. Just let me know if you have questions or check out the ]BRPG Forums
It's worth the effort to learn the software. The creator "Heruca" adds new features almost every 3-4 months and is great about fixing any bugs or taking user feedback seriously.

Only the Barbarian & Elf survived the play testing! emoticon

Re: WHQ-Online Project

I am finding this Battlegrounds software rather interesting. It makes me wish I could get together with my players and have a "live" game.

I am now torn between trying to use BG to track my games -- using screenshots as you mention to show the map -- between this and my new method I have been working on for a little while. My new method is to do the map with warriors and monsters and etc in an html table. The game board is mostly done as background images. The models are inserted images with tooltip text. Also, I can make the model images into links to pertenant info.

Here is a current game sample using my new method:

]The Capricious Gang Map

One big advantage the BG program has over my new method is the zoom feature. I haven't figured out a way to "zoom" in and out on my html map (table). This makes the mini-maps expecially difficult to create with my method.

Regardless which method I end up using for my forum games, I will likely purchase the program and use it for solo games -- since I no longer have the physical WHQ game (though I purchased at least two copies in the past). emoticon

Re: WHQ-Online Project

Let me know if you decide to run a game using BRPG I would love to play with a more experienced WQ GM!

I can send the tiles to you via email if you'd like. I have 600dpi versions that I've done with & w/o the black border. Including some of the expansion sets (eventually all).

Also if you need to do any play testing let me know since I have the GM version it also grants me the Player option to log into your games if you decide to buy BRPG.

Re: WHQ-Online Project

I will probably get the GM version of BGPG. This way I do have the option of running the games in real-time. emoticon

Perhaps, I could get together with some others from time to time. We shall see.

It is nice to see that there is a way to save the current state of the table top. This way, with limited playtime the game could be resumed fairly easily it seems at a later time.

Yes, "Ruffian", I would probably be interest in the 600dpi board images. I will PM my email address to you. As for which, with or w/out the black border, I prefer whichever images most easily fit the BG grid.
Which brings up the question: do your images fit, or do they need to be adjusted?

I am hoping to have a set of gameboard images -- eventually -- including many custom tiles, that I can just import and place where I want without ever having to resize them.

Oh, and please do NOT send any expansion board section images -- because I have never purchased the game expansions, though I did buy several of the warrior packs. emoticon

Re: WHQ-Online Project

Well, now I have to rethink this subject once again, because it seems very few people are interested in playing a "live" game of WHQ online -- at least they haven't been showing up here yet. emoticon

I am hesitant to spend money on this software right now, when I don't think it is going to save me much if any work on my online games. Once I finish most of my board sections in html table form, I think my games will be able to run much more smoothly.

Anyway, I am not giving up on this table-top software yet. I am just waiting a awhile to see what interest is out there and perhaps to let myself experiment with it from time to time.

This looks amazing!!! Is it nearly complete?

Am glad to see the museum up and running again too!

Is this game made by the same people who created the online turn based game from a few years back?
