Fire, Fire, Fire!

Hey guys, been away quite a while sorry to anyone who may have emailed me havn't checked my mail in a while either and now yahoo appear to have deleted it. Anyway will get around to doing something more with ThePit eventually but for now just trying to get back into actually playing some quests emoticon.

So quick question, how many times can you set someone on fire with FireArrows?

I was thinking just once but then maybe their arm caught fire first time then their leg etc. its not like the fire rules suggest they've been completed engulfed by flames, that would seem as if it would do more than an extra D6 damage.
I've got a halfling armed with the bow of veros whos very interested in the answer (each arrow splits into D6 arrows i'm going to bloody torch someone emoticon ) .

Also very pleased to see the Museum is back i'm sure Bruno will be more reliable at site updates than me emoticon.

My own opinion is foggy on this issue. I am reluctant to say that more than one arrow on the same target would cause accumulative fire damage, but then again the arrows are a bit expensive. So, maybe it should be allowed on that basis. I am assuming that someone might not waste too many expensive arrows on cheap monsters unless it were an emergency -- which seems to happen quite often in WHQ. emoticon

Edit: change the first word from More to My. lol

In my mind, something can be lite on fire once, and once the flame goes out, you can lite it on fire again. But I have no rules to back that up with, just the way I picture it in my mind.

I'd say larger monsters can be lite more then once, say different sides of body, extremities. But a rat can only be on fire once sense its so small. Large creatures multi fires, small one fires.

For now i'll let them try lighting someone on fire multiple times see how it works. Don't see any problem with small monsters as i can't see anyone wasting a fire arrow on anything smaller than a minotaur.

My halfling is on BL3 but hasn't managed to get a single stat increase yet emoticon, so still just one attack.
But with his 'Bow of Veros' each arrow turns into D6 arrows (roll once to hit).

Where are the rules for that bow? I like the sound of that.

Bow of Veros (BE)
Carved deep within Athel-Loren by the master Fletcher Veros, this bow has the power to multiply arrows that touch it’s string.
It is treated as an Elf Bow, and each arrow loosed from the bow splits into 1D6 arrows, making 1 hit roll for all the arrows (which will all strike the same target). Each arrow has damage resolved as a separate attack, and any damage bonuses for the arrow fired apply to all the arrows it splits into.
1000G

It's 65 in:
Warhammer Quest
Objective Treasure
by Luminos

Just a simple "bow of veros" on google took me there :-)

Isn't a bow intended for Elves and Barbarians, a little too big for Mootfolk?

The description of the Halfling Thief does not have any restrictions on bows:

Halfling Thieves may carry any items, treasure or weapons, but they are limited to what they can use. The Halfling Thief may not use the following pieces of equipment or treasure: Longsword, Greatsword, Broad sword, Battleaxe, Warhammer, Flail, Halberd. Musket, Horse, Warhorse. He may not wear armour of any kind (it doesn't come in Halfling sizes). Berserker sword, Giant Bane, Deathsword, Ogre Blade. Dispel Magic Scroll, Energy Jewel, Amulet of Fury, Crown of Night, Talisman of Jet, Destroy Magic Scroll, Boots of Battle, Gauntlet of Damzhar. Chalice of Sorcery, Book of Arcane Knowledge, Brooch of Power, Wand of Jade, Crown of Sorcery, Tablet of Edain, Wand of Diabolum, The Hammer Of Sigmar, Sword of Destruction, Gromril Blade, Hydra Sword, Axe of Slaying, Staff of Command.

Should longbow be in that list? Yes, it should. Should the magical bows say what kind of bows they are (short, long, etc)? Yes, they should...but they don't (sigh). If you go by the rules, technically he is fine as a SRM Halfling.

IMO, that bow is worth WAY more than 1000gp and a little too nerfy. I would not allow it in my game.
