Fimir?


Are there stats for Fimir or am I just missing them? I looked in the monsters section and there doesnt look to be any homebrewed Fimir. If there are any could someone point me in the direction if nor I guess me and my 1st edition WFRP book got a little homework to do. Thanks alot I love those one eyed women stealing monsters.

I haven't seen Fimir anywhere in Warhammer Quest official tables OR in unofficial tables.

I know there was a Fimir monster in Hero Quest though. emoticon

I think Fimir were removed from the Warhammer World because there were too many green races already and they were pretty close to Lizardmen. In any case, when looking at them in Heroquest and WFRP their stats seemed like they would be similar to WHQ Orcs.

I don't know enough about them to give them any unique abilities or anything so I never use the Heroquest minis I have. Any ideas would be welcome.

Well I opened my first edition Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay book to see if I could get some comparable stats and here is what I got.


Fimir(Warriors) WFRP

Special Rules: Fimir have either one or two weapon attacks and one tail attack(treated as a axe or mace) which can hit to the left,right or behind.

Ill now convert them for Warriors only because thats what I have from heroquest.
I feel they should be somewhere between a Orc warrior and Ogre.

Fimir Warrior
Wounds:6
Move: 4
WS: 3
BS: 6+
Str: 3
T: 4
Attack:1(2)special
Gold: 150
Damage:1d6

Special rules:If a Warrior is located to the immediate left, right or directly behind the fimir he may make a additional Tail attack treated as a mace(1d6+Str)-1 on all to hit [sign in to see URL] a unmodified 6 is rolled you may roll an additional 1d6 of damage.

Description pulled from Wiki:
Inspired by the Fomorians of Celtic myth, they are depicted as humanoid, cyclopean creatures with barbed tails and beak-like snouts, with skins that varied from a dark green to a muddy brown colour. They are described as being part Daemon.

The Fimir inhabit the wetlands of the Warhammer world, typically within crudely constructed fortifications resembling nothing more than a pile of rocks. From these locations, the Fimir raid the homes of humans, taking captives for daemonic sacrifices. The Fimir loathe sunlight, and are followed by wreathes of mist to shield them from it, and their homes are always shrouded by it.

Fimir society is divided into a caste system, consisting of Meargh, the Dirach, the warriors, and the Shearl. The Meargh - also known as witch-hags - are the leaders of Fimir colonies, as well as the only females[1]. A Meargh would typically also be a very powerful user of magic. The Dirach - described as "daemon-friends" - are a caste of wizards specialising in the worshipping of Daemons. The warrior caste - consisting of Fimm (warriors), Fianna Fimm (elite warriors), and the various nobles - take the brunt of raiding and fighting. The Shearls - the slaves of a Fimir settlement - exist only to work and die. The ruling Meargh hold the clans together. In the event of a Meargh's death, the Fimir of her stronghold separate, either working as mercenaries for other evil creatures or seeking out another clan to join. However the Meargh is sterile and therefore unable to breed. So as to replenish their numbers the Fimir kidnap young fertile human women to use as breeding stock.

If requested I will make the other Fimirs as well.

I don't know that I would have occasion to use them, but for those who might I think creating the different types would be useful. I would be interested to know what type of magic spells some of them would use. It sems to me that WHQ could use more variety in monster's spells.

Celtic eh? Maybe I'll whip them out if a party journeys to Albion. I've already started collecting Celtic minis for that purpose.

I have understood (rightly I hope) that Andrew Brockhouse and the Chronicles site are one in the same....

Hmmm... after I saw this reply, I went and searched the Chronicles website and couldn't find Fimir anywhere. I assume then it is the spells to which you refer. I may find a use for them later on in my games, but most games I currently play are rather low level. I am always interested in new stuff though. So, Fimir magic would be another curiosity for me to search out. lol emoticon
