WHQ:Resurrection Group on Yahoo!

For all those interested, i have set up a group on yahoo, to post undates and discuss the various aspects of my rewrite/update of Warhammer Quest. This also has enabled me to upload files of my work for everyone (whose interested...)to have a look at and then post their opinions and ideas.

If your not a member, it's simple and doesn't take 2 secs, have a gander and let me know what YOU think!

You can download here

Yeah I'm Play testing as I write, obviously atm I am using normal quest rules, with the resurrection changes, and facing areas that don't flow easy, adapting the rules to make more sense, for example i will be tweaking warrior and monster profiles, but for now i'm using the ones that exist and making notes. Have you tried playing using the new turn system, so far this is (i feel) a vast improvement on the way the game feels.. what do you think? and anyone else for that matter...

I've tried a system with ini with the custodian. Not your system but the rules was very near.
It was very heavy to manage. Few rooms later we abandonned it...

Re: WHQ:Resurrection Group on Yahoo!

I am currently trying a method similar to Dungeon Bash -- rolling Initiative for each Warrior and for each monster type in combat, but following the normal WHQ rules for non-combat party order.

I have to agree that it can make more work for the GM -- and for the players if playing without a GM.

I need to see if your most recent rules are at all similar to this. I still need to download that file. I will try to review it soon -- for my own instruction at least. emoticon

It is my opinion that 'the way the game feels' in this regard will have a lot to do with the individual player's former gaming experience. If they played a lot of DnD, then they will probably favour your new system. If they only played WHQ (like me, mostly)... then they might prefer the original WHQ turn/phases.

Thank you for the link bruno, i have updated the file on the site, and the logo interfearance has gone, however now it wont load the title fonts despite telling it to embed all fonts, any idea why this maybe?

your suggestion on the no-pics, do you mean whilst im still producing the system, and add the fluff and decor later, or do with out all together? because for me, the pics help build on peoples perspective of the warhammerworld, one of the first things i look at when new gw books come out is the artwork.

also, for initiative, i use the warhammer fantasy battles current stats for monsters, although i will probably tweek these when working on the bestiary book.

Old warrior, you are probably right with the feel thing, resurrection for me is an attempt to create something a little different to WHQ whist not making it anywhere near as complex as d&d.

Thanx again for your help bruno, i've uploaded a no-ad copy on the site (actually managed to reduce the file size enough).

not only does it help, but in my opinion i think it also makes reading the book easier and more enjoyable (especially for younger players).
