Another remake – individual approach

Hi!
For quite a long time now I've been working on a very individual remake of this game, which I thought to be worth of spending these uncounted hours of work on.

First, I wanted some style improvements that convert the game from a more-or-less rpg/pen-and-paper style game into something that offers easier access for casual gamers (like those in my gaming group) and has a more graphical interface.
The game only uses 2 character sheets: the first shows on the front a picture of the character, class and item slots – yes, I gave all the items and treasures in the game small round or square markers that can be put on these slots.
The second sheet has all the character-specific rules and abilities on the one side, and other additional information that is needed in the game (including an equipment list, character stats etc.) on the other side.
Here are some impressions – the language is German (I hope this doesn’t annoy you emoticon)

The second major addition is the use of buildings in the settlement phase. I just put them on the backside of some of the dungeon floors. So, if you visit a location you place your warrior’s figure on the relevant building, which includes all the information for this location.
Again a picture:

Any comments are welcome! We will probably play our fist game this week emoticon

I really like your ideas! That is a lot of work! It appears beautifully done too!

I have found for my own sake that having something visual is useful in settlements to help me know where my Warrior is going and where he has been... emoticon

Great Settlement idea.

I love the fact that you put them on the backside of the Dungeon Tiles. Very clever and quite efficient!

Look professional and sharp.

A job well done!

Finally, we played our first game last week and it was a complete successs!!!

Everyone liked the game from the beginning. We played the "Destroy the Bridge" adventure (objective room: Firechasm). We were using Old Warrior's first adventure monster table - it was hard but we all survived! Fortunately we were lucky and found a secret exit from the dungeon just 2 rooms before the objective room (which was the last card!!). And this was all we had to do - just escape and return an artifact!

Our party:
- Warlock (myself; originally Grogling's witch; did a good healing job)
- Imperial Noble (good to-hit rolls with rapier and some nasty close-range pistol shots)
- Elf (more engaged in hand-to-hand combat than with bow)
- Dwarf (his axe got quite bloody indeed)

We are looking forward to many more adventures in the Old World. A great game and exactly what I was looking for!

Sounds like real fun!

The OW monster table might sometimes be harder than the original Event cards (if you roll badly!emoticon), but on average, I think it tends to be a little easier. It is definitely easier than the level 1 tables in the RolePlay Book with the 'roll on level 2' results (11 and 66). emoticon
