WHQ Card Sleeves?

Does anyone use card sleeves for their WHQ cards?

I'm looking for something that will still allow the cards to be shuffled.

Stacking them is not an issue for me.

I'm not all versed in how to measure the inside of the card sleeves, so what size card sleeves do any of you recommend?

I've been using Ultra Pro Series sleeves. The WHQ cards a slightly non-standard size, but the Ultra Pro sleeves work just fine and shuffling etc isn't a problem. I use the cheapest ones they sell, 100 per pack. I think they cost around $1/bag of 100 sleeves. The original cardboard spell cards will fit in the sleeves too. Just can't beat the price... unless you want hologram dragons or something on the backs.

In addition to the sleeves I also use their slide-in storage boxes for keeping the Dungeon/Treasure/Event and Spell cards in while not in use and for transport... although my collection is getting so big out last 5-6 games have all been at my place as there's just too much to pack for anything but Battle-level 1 intro adventures.

Re: WHQ Card Sleeves?

OK, you two have been designing great cards, so you must be printing them.

Here is what I did with the cards I designed or printed:

I printed out the card fronts and the card backs and spray-mounted them onto extra/blank WHQ Treasure Cards that I did not need. Then I cut along the edges and used a clippy thing Andrew Brockhouse recommended to trim the rounded corners.

However, what I did was really sacrilege because I was ruining Out-of-Production cards! So, is there a thin card stock that you guys glue your creations to that would get me a better result? (With the added glossy paper thickness, my cards ended up slightly different still.)

I am not crazy about card-sleeves as I would need hundreds to contain the original WHQ cards and I want to be able to shuffle old and new together. I also did not like the way they shuffled. So, I have my sloppy new guys mixed into the old decks at this point. It's not too bad but they tend to shuffle together.

So, I would love recommendations for printing/finishing since I love many of the cards you two have been creating!

I use the card sleves from deckprotector
I use the format from Magic and I buy Magic common cards
These cards are not very expensive

I glue them on common cards
For the back I choose different colors
White are rooms
Red monster/events
Black Treasure

It's working pretty well and it's not so expensive...

My trouble is that my son doesn't speak a word of English I'll certainely need to redo all the stuffs, one day :S

Warhammer Quest should make a good teaching tool for English.

Of course, I say that but I still find Hybrid difficult to understand sometimes :P

Bruno, aren't the Magic cards a different size though?

The Magic cards are bigger but it's easy to glue on them.
I've choosen the Magic Cards format because it's very easy to find common cards.
Some shops sells them by kilo.

With luck you can find some of them with white or black borders.

Re: WHQ Card Sleeves?

So, I tried buying a 10-cent Yu-gi-Oh card, but the problem I have is the same as with Magic cards; The WHQ cards are skinnier but "taller".

But while I was a at my local hobby shop, I bought some great cards http://paizo.com/gameMastery/itemPacks from Paizo's GameMastery series. I picked up Weapons Locker and Council of Thieves, both of which have all kinds of different Treasure Cards.

The best part of these cards for us is that they have no rules, only a picture and flavor text. There is a Notes section on each card instead. So we can make notes such as:

"Leather Armor: Counts as Leather Armor from Blacksmith"

Some items appear to be standard or ornate versions of their kind that would have the same rules as in the Roleplay Book but perhaps a greater Gold value.

In the notes section is also a spot for an item code, where we could design a spreadsheet and then refer the card to the spreadsheet for extra rules.

Does anyone know off shops that stock them in manchester England?

And does anyone have a great, cheap way of producing excellent cards?

Im thinking of coming up with my own design, any programs (free) or templates that you might suggest i use?

I am done using glue, as I did not like the results. Here's what I'm up to now:

For the GamesMastery cards, I am making a spreadsheet that has complete item descriptions as well as sell info and who can use them (BDEW for example).

Then I made a label template in Word and bought some label sheets. Then I print one label at a time with a WHQ font and a brownish hue that looks good on the cards. I trim the label down to size and it looks good on the cards and the cards don't feel thicker like the spray mounted ones did.

Now I need one of these. Do you think this will work with slightly different size cards? Casino 6-Deck Shuffler

For any english based questers on this site, the deck protector sleeves 9 per page can be bought from WHSmiths.

Although they were quite pricey.

I will keep searching.
