Bounty Hunter

I am currently working on the Bounty Hunter character to make him easier to understand and play.

What am baffled about is the rules on his Repeating Crossbow. I've tried to do some research on this weapon and i can not figure out what the intent was on its rules for the Bounty Hunter.

It says that it has a magazine of 3 bolts. It says that he get 3 shots in one turn.

Does each shot have 3 bolts that fire?
And if so, must all 3 be shot at the same opponent?
Does he have the potential to actually fire 9 bolts in a single turn??! That seems like a lot!

And it says that the Six-Shooter Crossbow can fire 6 shots before reloading (3 bolts per shot). Is that 18 bolts before reloading?

It says that the 9-Shooter can fire 9 shots before reloading (3 bolts per shot). Does that mean he can shoot 27 bolts before reloading?

And again, how many BOLTS can he fire in one turn?

There is no Strength associated with this crossbow. I've found in the Dark Elves Army Book Supplement that a Repeating Crossbow is Strength 3, so i've made the Bounty Hunter's repeating crossbow the same.

And the Pistol Crossbow from the Fletcher - is this the same as a repeater crossbow? It can fire 3 shots in a one turn and needs a turn to reload. It is Strength 3 but is only Range 5.

Someone please enlighten me as to how these Repeater Crossbows work?

And please tell me how these magazines work!

And i've noticed that there are no exact rules as to how he gains and loses reputation points.

MANY THANKS!

Hi Littlemonk, I've been AWOL and see I have to catch up on all that you've contributed, but some of your charts look great!

If you search on the Bounty Hunter you will find the Outlaw/Bounty table that was missing from the original printing (they printed the omitted table a few issues later in the Citadel Journal).

I don't have the rules handy at my job so I can't clarify your questions yet, sorry!

No problem, BassJam.

I have all the rules and own both Journals with full charts.

Still - a lot of questions on this one!

Take your time and if you get a chance, perhaps you wouldn't mind contributing to 'clarifying' this particular warrior.

He's all done - i just have to clarify the rules on this repeating crossbow.

This guy can easily get way out of control as it is written. 3 shots per turn with 3 bolts in every shot??? No one gets more than 1 attack at level 1 (except the Barbarian's Berserk skill and the Imperial Noble's rapier at Strength 1).

I have read in WHFB that a repeating is not as powerful as a regular Crossbow Str 5 and i'm wondering if it is weaker than a Pistol Crossbow Str 3?

I'm leaning toward these rules:

- May fire as many times as he has attacks, up to 3 shots per turn

- Special Repeating Crossbow is Strength 2

- Each shot fires 2 bolts (instead of 3)

But i've also thinking about just not giving him any more than just 1 bolt per shot just to keep in simple...?

Again any more comments or suggestions are welcome.

I REALLY like this warrior - what a great concept! It looks like he's going to be a lot of fun to play!

Once i clarify this crossbow thing, this guy is ready for printing! He will be available on my forum at that point.

I'm no graphics expert - and it took me awhile to figure it out - but i'm a little bit proud of the character card i made for this guy!

Are you sure you're not a graphic designer? Your charts and cards all look great emoticon I had made a few myself some years ago with varying results and found the process very tedious. Do you have a template for your monster battle-level charts? I think I would like mine to look similar if you wouldn't mind... (I work on my own monster charts to evolve the game along with the Fantasy Battle books)

Hi LittleMonk, the Bounty Hunter looks pretty awesome there! I can't wait until I fix my printer emoticon

I think the Repeating Crossbow was originally meant to shoot 3 bolts per Turn as you have it, but the magazine could hold 9 bolts before needing a reload. I would allow Warriors to fire at different targets, because that is the Old World version of going Rambo on a bunch of Orcs emoticon

I have a quick question about your Sister of Sigmar. In two places, she starts with 1d6+1 Wounds but in one she has 2d6 Wounds. Which do you now prefer? I would vote for 2d6 - re-rolling one '1'. That would give her more Wounds than a Halfling Thief, but less than a Witch Hunter.

Re: Bounty Hunter

Hey Bassjam,

Thanks for catching that inconsistency.

I played around with both ideas awhile. I ended deciding on 1D6+6 Wounds,1 wound less than the Warrior Priest. I need to change her stat card. In fact, now that i know what i'm doing, i'll be making a new, full character card with equipment, etc.

With the Witch Hunter i think they wanted a large range of possibilities for his Starting Wounds. For a Warrior Priestess, i don't think that should be the case.

Can you let me know which pages you see 1D6+1 for her Wounds? It's possible that an old upload, but i'm only finding 1D6+6 in her Starting Profile and in her Battle-Level Table.

With thanks!

I'm sorry, I meant 1d6+6 for Wounds. The card that says 2d6 is the one that is inconsistent.
