Ogres


Decided I'd share my Ogres with everyone. These are old styled Ogres from before Ogre Kingdoms, I dont really care for Ogres wielding cannons, although I do enjoy the Yetis, so they made the cut. Basic Ogres are same as in the roleplay book.

Aura of Frost: Any warrior fighting adjacent to a yeti gets -1 attacks (to a minimum of 1). This ability does not stack, you may be adjacent to three Yeti, but still only get -1 attack.

Thanks, glad you like the Ogres. I actually dont use the magic items tables. We find that it slows down the game especially at higher levels, so we just make note of the magic weapons & armor, rather than actually go with the rules.

What rules we do use for magic weapons & armor is to give specific monsters special rules for weapons and armor, much like Bloodletters are all armed w/ Hellblades. For example, all wights are armed with Wight Blades which cause double damage on a hit roll of 6. Chaos Warriors all have chaos armor which grants magic resist 6+, and ignore blows 6+, there are others that I can't think of at the moment.

That is a really great idea when you need more play and less flipping through books. I know my wife hates it when i have to look up stuff like that. But personally, i do like rolling to see what the item is.

Yeah, I know what you mean about rolling for the items. The first time my group and I played (couple years ago), we rolled for random magic stuff. It is fun to come across different groups wielding different weapons, and the randomness of encounters is one of the huge draws to the game for me. However, by level 7 or so it becomes quite tedious. Maybe I should make some reference cards, so that looking up the charts does not take so long. Hmmm.....

A card-sized summary of the magic weapons would be useful :-)

It would be awesome to get loads of the tables redone as cards... sometimes the game really does need some help to keep it moving

I agree having cards makes things flow so much easier. A few months ago I was able to complete a full set of event cards that will take us all the way to level 10. I also put each type of monster magic, and the escape table on cards, why I didnt think to put the magic weapons and armor on cards, I have no idea.
