At moment, I've been thinking of just using the Orc Magic Table for now.nondisclosed_email@example.com (lord mavik)Sat, 29 Oct 2011 04:36:43 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561264,from=rss#post561264https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561264,from=rss#post561264I think I read somewhere that Ogre magic in Warhammer revolves around the Butcher eating stuff - bones or stones or other unlikely but quite cool stuff - and using what was eaten to define the spell. Like eating bones meant they could splinter the bones of an enemy, and so on. I'd really like to see some Ogre items and spells, I think I'm going to try and find a copy of the rules somewhere and see what can be done.nondisclosed_email@example.com (QuestingKnight)Wed, 19 Oct 2011 18:42:24 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561255,from=rss#post561255https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561255,from=rss#post561255Yeah there are Ogre wizards now, called butchers/slaughtermasters, also there are now ogre wizards called firebellies which use fire magic.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Amazing Larry)Wed, 19 Oct 2011 08:32:47 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561252,from=rss#post561252https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561252,from=rss#post561252Is there any spell caster type Ogres in Warhammer?nondisclosed_email@example.com (lord mavik)Wed, 19 Oct 2011 03:30:09 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561189,from=rss#post561189https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561189,from=rss#post561189No idea what magic items & such to use for Ogres. I take most of my magic stuff from the old 4th/5th edition Warhammer books that I have. I have no Ogre Kingdoms books. Perhaps they could have some ice themed weapons. Maybe a frost mace that drops a Warrior's attacks by -1 for one turn, each time it hits? Magic gut plates, one that gives regeneration, maybe one that gives ignore pain, or a gut plate that gives the ogre an extra bite attack?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Amazing Larry)Tue, 11 Oct 2011 02:52:03 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561187,from=rss#post561187https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561187,from=rss#post561187So what special weapons / armour / items would you use for the ogre characters?nondisclosed_email@example.com (QuestingKnight)Tue, 11 Oct 2011 01:45:08 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561177,from=rss#post561177https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561177,from=rss#post561177It was by computer. A few months ago I was able to complete a full set of event cards that will take us all the way to level 10. I also put each type of monster magic, and the escape table on cards, why I didnt think to put the magic weapons and armor on cards, I have no idea.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Amazing Larry)Wed, 05 Oct 2011 03:51:33 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561169,from=rss#post561169https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561169,from=rss#post561169A card-sized summary of the magic weapons would be useful :-) It would be awesome to get loads of the tables redone as cards... sometimes the game really does need some help to keep it movingnondisclosed_email@example.com (QuestingKnight)Tue, 04 Oct 2011 20:23:45 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561168,from=rss#post561168https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561168,from=rss#post561168Yeah, I know what you mean about rolling for the items. The first time my group and I played (couple years ago), we rolled for random magic stuff. It is fun to come across different groups wielding different weapons, and the randomness of encounters is one of the huge draws to the game for me. However, by level 7 or so it becomes quite tedious. Maybe I should make some reference cards, so that looking up the charts does not take so long. Hmmm.....nondisclosed_email@example.com (Amazing Larry)Tue, 04 Oct 2011 10:47:03 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561167,from=rss#post561167https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561167,from=rss#post561167quote:Amazing Larry wrote: Thanks, glad you like the Ogres. I actually dont use the magic items tables. We find that it slows down the game especially at higher levels, so we just make note of the magic weapons & armor, rather than actually go with the rules. What rules we do use for magic weapons & armor is to give specific monsters special rules for weapons and armor, much like Bloodletters are all armed w/ Hellblades. For example, all wights are armed with Wight Blades which cause double damage on a hit roll of 6. Chaos Warriors all have chaos armor which grants magic resist 6+, and ignore blows 6+, there are others that I can't think of at the moment. That is a really great idea when you need more play and less flipping through books. I know my wife hates it when i have to look up stuff like that. But personally, i do like rolling to see what the item is. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Littlemonk)Tue, 04 Oct 2011 06:26:48 +0000 Re: Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561166,from=rss#post561166https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561166,from=rss#post561166Thanks, glad you like the Ogres. Have you had any thoughts on Ogre-specific Monster Magic Items/Weapons/Armour?nondisclosed_email@example.com (QuestingKnight)Mon, 03 Oct 2011 20:26:58 +0000 Ogreshttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561149,from=rss#post561149https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p561149,from=rss#post561149Decided I'd share my Ogres with everyone. These are old styled Ogres from before Ogre Kingdoms, I dont really care for Ogres wielding cannons, although I do enjoy the Yetis, so they made the cut. Basic Ogres are same as in the roleplay book. Ogre Champion Wounds: 32 Move: 6 WS: 4 BS: 5+ S: 5 T: 5 A: 3 Dmg: 2D6 Gold: 1100 Fear 6, Magic Weapon Ogre Chieftain Wounds: 40 Move: 6 WS: 5 BS: 4+ S: 5 T: 6(9) A: 4 Dmg: 3D6 Gold: 2400 Fear 7, Ignore Blows 6+, Magic Weapon & Armor Ogre War Chief Wounds: 50 Move: 6 WS: 6 BS: 3+ S: 5 T: 6(9) A: 5 Dmg: 4D6 Gold: 3800 Fear 8, Ignore Blows 5+, Magic Armor & Weapon Yeti Wounds: 25 Move: 6 WS: 4 BS: 6+ S: 5 T: 4 A: 3 Dmg: 2D6 Gold: 600 Ambush 4+, Fear 6, Never Pinned Aura of Frost: Any warrior fighting adjacent to a yeti gets -1 attacks (to a minimum of 1). This ability does not stack, you may be adjacent to three Yeti, but still only get -1 attack.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Amazing Larry)Fri, 30 Sep 2011 01:52:24 +0000
