HI, I'm new to the board and I would like to share my little entry to the whq community.
 
I've been using UDK as a virtual gaming aid, playing with miniatures on top of a LCD TV.
 
Mainly playing wfrp but i love WHQ and thought about trying to import some tiles and give it a try, to see if the old tiles would work in a digital environment.
And i believe they do, but in future i should probably remake rooms with wings3d to static meshes and make a new revamped digital edition, fully 3d just to get those flat tiles to come alive.
 
My udk-game is controlled with arrow keys and all action is mainly based on triggers on map(open doors, falling rocks, traps etc) and all materials I use have grids from start.
My camera is static as long as my pawn doesn't reach the borders of the TV, it then centers up on the new unexplored part of the map the players are facing.
This way you can virtually make endless corridors and dungeons. emoticon and you only need a 32" TV and a laptop. emoticon

But you can spot the tiles in UDK.

Better quality, but please change to 720P/1080P in youtube.
 
I've made several changes, one being able to reveal rooms via keystrokes. emoticon
 
Open the door to the first chamber? GM just needs to press 1 on [sign in to see URL] room, press 2.
Easy and no need to search after invisible triggers.
So I don't have to move around the torch to trigger the events.*phew*
 
Also being able to switch to fps view and back to topdown view makes it easy to give the players a more detailed description of the rooms they enter.
 
Trigger explosions/traps/secrets on certain tiles made easy by keystrokes also.
 
The small cinematic, when discovering the entrance to deep 2 and the statue, is made in vertical mode, my players sits in that corner often,thats why. emoticon
 
Well, thats it, anyone got some ideas for the 3d battlemap, please post em.
