Bounty Hunter

Hey all.

I have decided to try another of the CJ WHQ characters.
Loved the EBBP so now I am trying the Bounty Hunter.

Yes, I know LittleMonk did his spin on the fellow, but I am trying to not stray far from what Steve published of Gav's in CJ35.
Heard there was a fixed up version that would have been in DB4, but, as you all know, there ended up to be no DB4.

I have worked out the crossbow since it is based on the dark elf design which is itself based upon the Chinese weapon.
And with Andy's blessing, I worked out the starting ammo and hand-to-hand weapon problems.
I even contacted a couple old GW friends and worked out the magazine problem.

Where I am having my problem is the alleged table that Step 1 in Generating Outlaws speaks of.
So, where is this table?
Does it have to do with the Outlaw character in CJ33?
I presume said table gives us the basic stats for the Outlaw as well, yes?

Additionally, I am having trouble in 5. Calculate Bounty.
Where do you find the base bounty an outlaw is worth?
The "chart" mentioned appears to be missing or I am not understanding.

Any way, some quick help please?!?
I am planning to take him on a Christmas adventure.

For my figure, I am using arms, body & legs from Free Company sprue, head from Greatsword sprue and repeating crossbow from Dark Elf Warrior sprue.
Planning to add a falchion, cloak and knives from the Free Company sprue as soon as I can.

I need to look for a pair of manacles for him.
Any suggestions as to where I find a pair?

Thank you all for any help you can give me concerning my queries.
Toodles! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re: Bounty Hunter

I will try to give what answers I can.

First of all, there was an errata table for the Generation of Outlaws for the Bounty Hunter. I am not sure, but I think it was in CJ36 (or later?). I have a scan of that table, though, I sadly do not have the original magazine from which it came. It refers back to CJ35, and states "We neglected to include the Outlaw generation tables for the Bounty Hunter character in CJ35". Perhaps I can reproduce the data from that table here -- in a later post to this topic -- or post the image. BUT, please let me know if that would be a copyright violation. I should probably revisit GW's Intellectual Property Policy to be on the safe side.

In reference to calculating bounty: remember that there was an Outlaw card to be used in the Event Deck to trigger if and when the Outlaw (the one the Bounty Hunter was seeking) would appear during an Adventure. The base gold value of that card is what I presume is the base value for any Outlaw generated, since the crimes table gives "Additional Bounty" values for each crime the Outlaw has committed.

The table I refer to above includes a statement that "The Outlaw for the event card is profile 1 on the Novice table. He is worth 150 gold."

Re: Bounty Hunter

Can I face smack myself any harder while exclaiming, "Oh, duh!"?
Nearly the only reason I own copies of CJ37 is for the table in it for the Bounty Hunter.

That answers the first Q outright.

On Q2, I am presuming here that from what it says on the Errata page that all Outlaws start at 150g and the bounty rises with the number of crimes and each crime's value.
That the chart mentioned in 5. is the Crimes chart.
Reasonable?

And yes, it is always wise to error on the side of caution, or even in outright fear, of GW Legal.
Life for every GW player is much easier when GW Legal does not cast its baleful glare their way.

Thank you Old Warrior for your guidance in this matter from this battle-damaged old monk.
Have a Happy/Merry Christmas!
