How Often Have Your Warriors Died in their First Adventure?
This is a poll. I am going to give sort of ambiguous-sounding options from which to choose but will include a percentage in parenthesis after each one. This will certainly not be an exact science for most of us, so just make your best guess if unsure.
The words Your Warriors in the question can mean either Warriors that you have personally played, or Warriors that your gaming fellows have played in games where you have played or GMed, or both.
You may choose up to two answers, but please only do so if you are stuck on the fence between two OR if you want to answer for your gaming group and for yourself separately. IF you want to give two answers, please do so at the same time -- checking BOTH options before submitting your vote, because the vote(s) can only be submitted once per member.
Note: though I doubt anyone playing several games will have 100% loss of their Warriors' lives, I have included that option just in case and to be complete.

Re: How Often Have Your Warriors Died in their First Adventure?
Happened quite a few times, then again cascading events + objective room + consistent 1s for power really do a number on a party which isn't stacked to the teeth with items and skills.
One time we were one skaven warrior away from finishing the dungeon with our last warrior left (the elf). Rolls a 1 for power and gets surrounded by Goblin spearmen, and that's the party wipe.
Honestly it's a game of chance, so losing is what makes it fun (READ: Dwarf Fortress :P). Really reflects well the fact that a *lot* of adventurers don't make it past the first hurdle, and even the greatest warriors can get felled by a duel gone wrong. Fits the setting rather well (the Blanchian nightmare of constant death and dismay, but not without the tongue-in-cheek touch here and there which makes it much easier to accept).

Should have read the instructions.
I would have marked the 3-5% as well just in case my math was off.
Since this poll is still a very small sample, I logged in with an alternate ID and voted for that 3-5 % option on your behalf, Warrior Monk.

Re: How Often Have Your Warriors Died in their First Adventure?
My gaming group and I lose 75% of lvl. 1, 1st dungeon characters. It goes up to 90% the second mission. We do use random parties each time using the 13 GW warriors, so often healing is lacking. 😀

Hello, FishyOne!
I think this is a very important distinction to make. If we plan on having a consistent healer (or two) in the party, then the chances of survival usually goes up greatly! On the other hand, IF we just go with random Warriors, and in the case of a Wizard, a "healer" with a random healing spell, then the chances of survival tend to go down dramatically!
There are other issues that can affect party survival, but this is one of the biggest issues in my opinion.

Re: How Often Have Your Warriors Died in their First Adventure?
also playstyle.
I personally use the events and monster tables in the roleplay book from the first dungeon.
I don't use only the cards for a few reasons, but one being why are warriors not scared by minotaurs in their first dungeon but after that they are suddenly scary?!
some monster encounters in the level 1 table are quite hard which are not on the cards
(naggaroth black guard, savage orcs plus shaman, ogres, dark elves, beastmen to name a few)
--- most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.
have a great day :D

Because young warriors are reckless - then they get wiser (and appropriately afraid) as they get older!
For my gaming group, the very first adventure of a fresh group of warriors is the hardest. As soon as we get through that, and get some supplies at our first town, things get more manageable.
We mostly plan our team to get a decent composition. We did do a fully random group recently, but it failed on about the third corridor of the first dungeon (loads of unexpected events) and my halfling thief achieved nothing. Still fun though, as always!

Except Growler, for some reason. Minotaurs, centaurs, skeletons, zombies and carrion are all apparently ok, but a slightly large cave squig is almost certain to fill a new party with dread.
