WHQ Standees Revisited

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

Moderators feel free to delete my old standee/pawn topic.

So someone messaged me asking if I had the files for the standees I have made for WHQ. I have yet to go through and make the whole bestiary, and I only have made a few that I wanted to use immediately. If you're somewhat able to use photoshop, these are pretty easy to make. It takes a little time, but not as much time(or money) as finding, buying, and painting some of these miniatures.

1. Find image of the miniature you want. Copy and paste into the image editor of your choice. I use windows snipping tool to screen grab and avoid the hassle of downloading a bunch of images.

2. Make sure you scale it correctly using whatever type of ruler your image software has. You may want to erase by hand some of the parts you're going to trim off later so you're not wasting ink. Then copy the "miniature" and mirror it so it will fold back to back when you print it.

3. Print, cut, then glue. This is stuff you surely did in grade school, so it's kind of self explanatory.

4. (Optional)I laminate my standees because it makes them more durable and slightly cleaner looking.

5. Place standee in stand. I personally use Pathfinder Pawn stands, but I have to use tape on the bottom of the standees to make it thick enough to hold.

I may eventually post sheets to my imgur which is where the above image is stored. I won't post them on here for some obvious reasons. GW is so anal sometimes.

Ah yes, lamination sounds like an excellent practice. Durability is important if you used these much. emoticon

They look much better than simply using flat tokens or substituting one model for another. emoticon

And with all of the pics GW has done in their catalogues over the years, let alone magazines, there is an absolute treasure trove of images to pull from.

Looks better than my stickered bases, but I do wonder about GW IP issues.
