"the turn" and "once per Quest"


If u have a magic item that can only be used
once per Quest, can u only use it during 1
Warriors' Phase only? Time Freeze spell/ring
give u another Warriors' Phase and some skills/spells
say the effect lasts for 1 turn. Confusing, right?!
(That's why I love Warhammer Quest! It keeps my brain active! : )

Not confusing; just follow what the game description of the item says to do.

Most items have the duration they have so as to not unbalance the game.

If it says once per adventure, but with no specified time limit, the most times it lasts a turn.
Most often 1 turn = 1PwPh, 1WrPh, 1MoPh, & 1ExPh.
Always look at the situation logically, not by what is most favorable for your adventurer.

Yes, some really fun items can only be used for a very limited time per adventure, but that way the fun of the adventure is preserved.
Andy J. et al mention "common sense" a dozen times in the RolePlay book.

almost all (keeping options open because there are lots of items with slightly different wording) items work for one turn per adventure.

time freeze ring gives an additional warriors phase but it is the same turn so should still work IMO.

same works for skills etc.

main issue would be a "one shot" item which works once only you wouldn't get an extra use for the time freeze ring or similar.

if an item made monsters skip the monster phase it would be another turn so not help here. (not aware of any but I can imagine someone would homebrew something like this)

timefreeze ring and similar items main drawback is the same power phase: priests, wizards, and others like that do not get an extra cast (typically) from an extra WP
