We use the "Dice of Love". Which is a D4, used in place of Warrior counters that we use to determine all randomly selected Warriors. If we have split Battle-Levels we use the Dice of Love every time Monsters are draw to determine which Dungeon Level we roll on nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sith Kinks)Sat, 03 Aug 2019 13:28:00 +0000 Re: Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563436,from=rss#post563436https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563436,from=rss#post563436Late reply as usual around here... First of all, if everybody dies miserably because every board space fills up with monsters, you're playing the game correctly! But my main thing is that I quickly got bored with getting restricted to exactly 4 characters. I want to be able to play with varying amounts of friends, and let people focus on their champ. But I also do not like the add +25% of monsters and came up with a more volatile but fun solution. Let's say your party has three heroes of various levels, Battle-levels 1, 2 and 3. I add those numbers together and divide by 4 (the recommended balance). 1+2+3 = 6. 6 divided by 4 = 1.5 1.5 is then the Dungeon Level, and they are exactly halfway between levels 1 and 2. Rather than do the +50% thing, I just leave it to chance for every single Monster encounter. I have a player roll a d6: on a 4-6 they are fairly safe and get a standard level 1 encounter. On a 1-3, they must roll on the Level 2 Monster table and the danger begins! This kind of formula works for all kinds of party comps, and I've even used it to add brand new characters to parties with BL 3 and 4 heroes. The results have been no less balanced than the normal game is at that point. nondisclosed_email@example.com (BassJam)Sat, 27 Jul 2019 08:26:16 +0000 Re: Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563347,from=rss#post563347https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563347,from=rss#post563347I play my WQA in this way: If you roll a 1 in the Powerphase you draw a Eventcard. Thast easy. As long as the "Unexpected Eventcard" is in play (Monsters are on the Board) you donĀ“t draw a new Unexpected Event Card if you roll a 1 in the Powerphase. If a Hero opens a Door to a Room, Than you must draw a Eventcard, even if the first is in play. If a Unexpected Event is in Play and you roll a 1 in the PW, than the last defeated monsters (only one) returns on the Board to the Rules. Simple solution to the overhelming rules. But I refer that still 4 heroes are in Play, even with less players.  nondisclosed_email@example.com (Operation C)Mon, 09 Apr 2018 16:36:41 +0000 Re: Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563345,from=rss#post563345https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563345,from=rss#post563345i have in the past but I find issues with doing that. firstly +25% monsters does not balance out an extra warrior well: to start it is okay, later it is nowhere near. secondly the extra model causes issues, especially in corridors. I often found in a corridor someone would end up isolated fighting 2-3 monsters and dropped with nobody being able to heal them. so now I stick to 4 warriors onlynondisclosed_email@example.com (Edquest)Fri, 23 Mar 2018 05:40:00 +0000 Re: Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563344,from=rss#post563344https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563344,from=rss#post563344Thanks guys! Does anyone play with more than 4 heroes at a time? Nobody uses the wizard in my group so I was thinking of having him as a tag along (adjusting the amount of those naughty monsters accordingly!) I've run out of event cards before in the first three corridors purely due to Unexpected Events! for me I like the wizard with healing hands and a back up healer who has limited healing but which always works when available. examples: pit fighter heal itt potion, witch hunter with healing amulet, elf with healing potion. with healing hands you can always heal a little when the power roll is anything using some stored power.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Edquest)Wed, 21 Mar 2018 19:56:27 +0000 Re: Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563342,from=rss#post563342https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563342,from=rss#post563342You are doing it right. Wait until you have your board and the two adjacent boards completely filled with monsters. The Wizard is the best healer with the Healing Hands spell.nondisclosed_email@example.com (RangerKnight)Tue, 20 Mar 2018 05:07:42 +0000 Lots of monsters and also healinghttps://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563341,from=rss#post563341https://bwarhammerquest.runboard.com/p563341,from=rss#post563341Hi guys, So played my second game of warhammer quest yesterday and once again loved it but once again we were spammed by monsters - at one stage we had over 20 on the board. So, I was thinking maybe I was playing the game wrong - I only introduce monsters in the power phase if we get a 1 in the power phase and the event card gives a monster and or when entering into a new room and the event card gives a monster - drawing a card in the monster phase. I was also wondering whether I was giving the monsters too many hit to wound but thought this was 1D6 plus their strength. It just seems we get smashed to rubbish. Also, can anyone recommend a good healer - I was thinking the wizard or maybe warrior priest but don't know the warrior priests stats etc. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Rob. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Kylu)Tue, 20 Mar 2018 00:17:00 +0000
