play testing home brewed warriors?

question on the title really.

i've homebrewed a few warriors, and have seen plenty of homebrews online too, just wondering if people spend a lot of time playtesting them?

if so, how do you do it?
do you: create a fairly vanilla party (BDEW minus 1)and add the new warrior in the niche you are aiming for them to fill?

do you: make a party 50% original and 50% your new idea warriors?

or would you go full bore all new warriors!

reason i ask is with the lockdown in effect here in the UK now is the time for trialing out some warriors like this, or just funny dungeons like the all wizard or all priest dungeons to see how it all works out.

i'm considering trying my Indiana Jones, Witch Doctor (Diablo 3), Waywatcher and Physicians Student warrior party!
essentially no hand to hand tank character, 2 healers and 2 ranged guys!
could be funny!
could be very short!!

what do you guys do?

most of my posts may run into essay length. I find that for a lot of queries/feedback context is important and that is why this happens more often than not.

have a great day :D
