Solo game rule number one!

The first rule stated for the solo game is:
Before you roll for power in the first turn, get out, socialize and find some friends to play this wonderfull game with! emoticon

Ok lets try and keep it civil here. Firstly define your criteria for solo. Are you looking to play as a single warrior or a team of four? Are you looking for a quick dungeon bash or wanting to include rules from the roleplay aspect of Warhammer Quest.

If it's just a dungeon bash your after WQ is already setup for solo play. Move and fight as normal. Monsters are placed and attack targets as usual etc ... Off the top of my head I don't think you require any changes for solo play.

Cheers,
Andrew

Oooh, harsh NYJETS!
But it made me laugh.

Urm, while I would say that playing roleplay is more fun, which requires at least 2 folks, I have done a few solo games myself (and my infrequent playtesting makes it necessary now and then), and they tend to go fine. The main problem I have is in being fair... it's always a temptation to 'randomly' target all of the minotaur's attacks on that annoying elf: But I am babbling.

Yes, I agree with andrewr on all points.

I tried solo game with the help of the Cheesmaster's software.
But it's bored me. I played one time by weeks with my wife and it's fun.

To stay in the topic if you may have a computer with Battle Tracker the game will be more fun

Re: Solo game ?

I used to play solo once in awhile. Don't anymore, so this rule is untested (I used to play make-believe with 4 Warriors.)

My formula for dungeon difficulty is (# of cumulative Warrior Battle-levels divided by 4).
In other words, 4 BL 1 Warriors = 4 levels. Divide by 4 (1) and you'll see that 4 level 1s go through a level 1 dungeon.

Therefore, a BL 4 Warrior should be able to tackle a lev 1 dungeon on his own, but keep in mind he should be well-equipped as he will have no mates to keep him going when in a tight spot.

For a lev. 1 solo adventurer, divide all encounter numbers by 4 as they suggest. So 2d6 Bats will be anywhere from 1 to 3 Giant Bats. No problem, right? For creatures which appear in numbers like 1d3, lessen their hps if necessary. For example, say 1d3 Minotaurs show up. if you roll a '3', then have one angry Mino charge in (you're screwed, just like a normal 1st lev group.) If you roll a '1', then have a very young Mino with 1 attack and 4 Wounds roll up on you. (Worth 1/4 as much Gold)

Remember, the lack of Gold the lone hero would receive would be offset by all that Treasure your greedy munchkin can keep (provided he survives). For non-Wizards to live, perhaps make sure that there are heal potions available in your Treasure deck/table. (Diablo-style)

Merci bien

After helping you with your translation and infinite life I thought I got some credit.

I was just kidding. That's why I put the smily in.

I am sorry for offending you.

Come on people, there's no need for all this. This is supposed to be a forum where everyone feels welcome and can help each other out.

nemesis7474, I think NYJETS147 was just joking when he said to get some friends. So don't take it personally.

It is quite ok to play WQ by yourself, especially if you want to play more than other members of your group. And also if your warrior dies and you have to quickly bring a new one up to the same level as the other warriors in your party, you can have some quick solo adventures. (Although you would probably die, we find it hard occasionally playing a game with just 2 people)

NYJETS147, I am honoured that are making the shipwreck from my adventure. emoticon I hope to see some photos when it's all finished!
