Range of Monster Spells
Howdy,
The wizzard and my Orc shaman had a brief clash about ranges in our last game.
(we are running our games with GM)
Most of the wizzards spells have a max. range like boardsection, board, line of sight.... (most attack spells are same boardsection only)
Most monster spells seem to lack these.
Due to somme (un)lucky :bad: power-rolls the boardsection of the party was rather crowded and the shaman was placed on another boardsection.
After several other lucky rolls the shaman blasted the party with repeated "da krunch" spells wich got the wizzard real mad because he couldnt answer in kind with his catalysm.
So the question is, are spellcasting monsters bound to any range limit like boardsection only or can they do havoc over the whole board?

Re: Range of Monster Spells
Good question, I usually play that spells have to be cast with at least some knowledge of where an enemy is. So even if spells can be cast on the "board" (which means no range limit) no-one casts attack spells that creep around 7 corners to unerringly target an enemy. If your Wizard was still in line-of-sight perhaps he wasn't using terrain wisely or should consider an Invis spell :b If you really want to learn ranges for things like spells and range weapons, I'd check out a rulebook for another GW game. Actually, I'm feeling helpful right now - 'Ere We GO!
Brain Bursta - 24 Squares (line of sight)
Fist of Gork - Range 8 Squares
da Krunch - Anywhere on Board
Mork Save Us! - Anywhere on Board
'eadbutt - 24 Squares and line of sight
