Re: Newbie Questions
I didn't like HeroQuest as much as WHQ, but I got a copy, as the models are pretty handy.
As for your questions, I agree with Andrew.
Do you think that there should be limitations on carrying things? And if so, what?

Re: Newbie Questions
I have encumbrance rules for WHQ - they are very lenient, after all the game is supposed to be Monty Haul! Still... Carrying around 18 shields and elevnty-seven suits of armor is a bit too much and I want Treasure cards to get recycled once in awhile. (Also, good power-gamers carry lots of Treasure around so that they have crap to lose when they must donate Treasure.) So my solution was encumbrance rules where you're at -1 Movement for each 'x' amount of items of different kinds. Part of the reason for the rules was because I want to encourage people to hire henchmen as pack mules (I have a hilarious mini of a burdened henchman.)

Re: Newbie Questions
Oh yeah, and henchmen can most definitely be attacked. My rules incorporate a little of what the Brockhouses did with the Merchant and then springboard from there.
I had two reasons for implementing them: 1. I play often with just my woman, and it's nice having a hired hand in the party when you only have two Warriors (I got sick of people running multiple characters.)
2. Ever notice that after Battle-level 5, Warriors stop dying so much and dungeons are a breeze? I want them to FEEL their mortality and what better way to feel truly buff than to enter into a dungeon with a small army and then half of them get destroyed by tough Monsters and Events?
That's the plan anyhow. My rules aren't quite complete because I felt the need to write a few NPC character classes and they don't have finishing touches yet.

Re: Newbie Questions
Hehe, the Hammer of Sigmar. To my nerdish-like recollection, lovely Ghal Maraz has only been exposed to theft for about twelve hours - when Luthor Huss left Valten alone in the Temple of Shallya. During those two minutes, the world's greatest assassin passed up the chance to steal the world's most important weapon (alongside Archaon's blade, how poetic). Oh well, at least he killed that darned Empire demigod. BLOOD FOR THE BLO0- oh, sorry. Bad habit.
In summary: Sigmarite Hammer = much better name for it. Especially since most of WHQ seems to take place years before the modern Warhammer World (Bugman's is still around, etc).

Re: Newbie Questions
Eh? I gave up watching the Storm of Chaos after the forces of Good won a depressingly costless victory and everthing went back to how it had been. Are you saying that Valtan is dead?
Clearly I have much still to learn before I advance to the rank of 'nerd'.
Edit- have just returned to the site. What a rubbish ending! Nothing has changed, except that there's a massive unexploded bomb somewhere in the city. Too much to hope that they'd wipe a major city off the map, I guess.
Sigh

Re: Newbie Questions
YES! That good-for-nothing Sigmarite reincarnation was cut down by the Chosen of Chaos and stabbed by my cowardly Skaven idol, Deathmaster Sniktch! Muhahahahahahahah!!! It was the only releif I got from that stupid campaign. I mean, you're right. Nothing changed... what was the POINT? Archaon is... somewhere. Vardek Krom is... somewhere. Mannfred von Carstein is back, but that would have happened ANYWAY.
All and all, very disappointing from a mythos sort-of-way.
I was going to create a thingy for that Giant Bomb, but I was going to do it in DCQ which... fell to pieces. Anyone up for a WHQ quest to save the northern empire?

Re: Newbie Questions
Yes, it was a shame about DCQ, but I think it required a considerable momentum to keep going. Makes a pretty nice adventure, though.
Perhaps the forces of evil will figure out that Chaos Incusions might do better if they didn't follow the same route each time. I mean, it aint that chaotic, doing the same thing each few thousand years.
Well, this is totally off topic.
