Re: Dice
Even my loaded dice gets a '1' when I really don't need it! We all know probability and statistics don't really exist and we are just pawns for the roleplaying gods to toy with. I feel that you will have to put up with whatever bad luck the give you and try to laugh in their faces.

Re: Dice
are we talking Dm(Gm) or warrior. If we are talking Dm then i would take the oppertuntiy to play a dart trap or make the warriors feel uneasy by saying (Strangly enough nothing happens), u can use these to make an objective room or unexpected event worse when they get to them, it could easily make them worried about the immediate danger to.
If its the warrior problem there isn`t much u can do.But i do find that your own mind set effects dice ( no i don`t mean magic and such). But if you are feeling low cus u can`t get the dice u need, then this will directly effect the way you play leading to more dice rolls than u maywell need to make than if you were thinking straight, and there for making your dice look and feel worse. If it was me playing the charcter I would make up some reason for a failed dice, some charater flaw, I was thinking of beer, for example if u were a barbarian. Unfortunatly warhammer quest is alot of dice rolling but its the enjoyment you get out of it that is important, and a good Dm(GM) will surely make it so that no matter how bad your dice rolls are its fun for all to play.

Re: Dice
I have a special die I use a GM. It's really not that special, it just has sharp edges as opposed to the other dice I use, which have round edges.
But when I bring it out, my players cringe. Somehow I always manage to roll 6's most of the time with that one. If the monster in question has some kind of save or magic resistance, and they see me pick up that die, they can be sure he'll make the save.
Best part is, my players can't do a thing about it, it's a normal die... it's just my lucky die...

Re: Dice
jeez those tricy dice! never use the GM dice (blek!)ive gotten like 6 ones in a row when i was playing 40k that hurt. i suggest using round sided backgammon dice or something you would find in one of those fancy games with wood and smoked glass if u know what i mean.

Re: Dice
This might be stupid but if i`m Dm(Gm) i use the board from hero quest to hide my dice rolls that way i can pull dice so they are lower that i rolled, i can also push dice so they are higher than i roll, the warrioes can`t see what i roll. I belive that this makes for a more exciting game. As Dm(Gm)i don`t belive its your job to kill the warriors just to make it as tense and exciting as possible. Hope u guys agree.

Re: Dice
I have done that many times when GMing a roleplaying game but never in WHQ. I guess I rarely play anything but the random games because there are never enough players.

Re: Dice
One of the advantages of online quest is that the GM can tinker with dice rolls all he/she likes and the players are none the wiser... not that I would do anything of the sort... ahaha. Ahahaha. AHAHAHAA!!! :bad:
