The Chaos Warrior -- Is it Okay to Tweak him into Existence?

Bruno, and others. emoticon

I believe that I (as GM) can tweak one of the knights (probably the Divine Knight) in Webquest to act as a Chaso Warrior. As a GM has access to all the warrior's charateristics and can add misc. entries, I believe as long as the player chooses an appropriate name and avatar, that I could make the changes needed to make the character playable as a Chaos Warrior (including the proper dice rolling for his original stats.).

I propose that, if this be allowed, the character will be limited to only play until the end of the game so as to avoid causing havoc in joining other games, not of my making. Therefore, this would only be an in-game adjustment.

So, what do you think? Should this NOT be allowed? Or, would it cause too much confusion for some?

Please feel free, administrator/moderater (whoever is in charge), to delete this topic if it is too dangerous or too chaotic. emoticon

My vote says anything goes so long as you enjoy it. As a GM, you should be able to do whatever you want with the characters so long as the players are content for it to happen. Thus, if you want a party consisting of a Chaos Warrior, a demon halfling, a dark elf and a lawyer, go for it.

A Lawyer?

Hey Grogling, a lawyer does seem to fit in that mix, at least a lot of them. So where are the character rules for the lawyer right next to the politician's emoticon

I don't think they ever made an official lawyer character because even in a fantasy world, there has to be some limit to the horrors.

I edited that last reply to include politicians.

Yeah, I am thinking of the Litigation nightmares. They might be worse than the unofficial settlement event that has vampires attacking the settlement.

What would be worse a party of vampiric supposedly good warriors, or a warrior party haunted by the ghosts and fears of Litigation Madness. Mwahaha! emoticon

I can see the adverts now. "Have you been injured in a dungeon and it wasn't your fault? Phone Grabbit and Run, your dungeoneering legal specialists for a 'no win, no fee' claim."

And, forget the gold for training and the new armour for a few adventures. The warriors (and maybe even the GMs) would have to purchase all sorts of insurance and save gold for court costs and lawyer's fees.

Insurance as in "Nofault" Armour Collision and Comprehensive Insurance; Weapon Damage Liability Insurance; malpractice insurance for healers (especially the Warrior Priest with that crazy Ring of Jade damage possibility -- Why, he might even consider changing his profession.); and, how about Callateral Damage Insurance?

Maybe an Insurance Agent profession should be added to accommodate these other professionals. (I have sold some medical insurance -- a tough sell many times.)

Sorry for getting this topic off topic, but Grogling made me do it. emoticon

Tweeky Goodness!

Getting back on track I was planning to do something similar to tweek my Slaaneshi chaos warrior into existance to give him a test run.
I don't see how anyone would mind as long as the warrior was only used in your games he could be kept around indefinatly.
I was expecting The Custodian to try something like this with his character generation rules. (I'm pretty sure it was The Custodian anyway)
Anyway I would be happy to join in and help test run the idea if you like.

Hey, right along your line of thinking, Karadryel, I was thinking that I might want to test drive a couple of my characters or maybe even four of them -- but especially the Martial Artist and the Friendly Giant.

I think that the players could first tell me which type they would like to try out. Then I would tell them what type of available WQ warriors to use and tweak them to the particular warrior type's rules and stats.

I am really eager to do some play testing with others using my warriors so that I can tell them the intent of the warrior's rules and then refine the rules for clarity and balance.

Why, I might even want to let someone try the new Changling, that I have not yet submitted to the Museum. emoticon

Perhaps I should start a new Game test topic. I could name the new game something unoriginal like "The Experiment", or something a little more original like "The Old Warrior's Test Lab". emoticon

Addendum: And, I am now creating it, awaiting players to read and reply if interested in trying out the Martial Artist, Friendly Giant, Changeling, and one of three other choices (Christian Missionary, Male Aes Sedai, or Female Aes Sedai). This way the players get to hear "right from the horse's mouth" (well, the author's keyboard anyway) on any rule questions for these warriors.

Go to topic "The Old Warrior's Laboratory ..." to read more:
