Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
Ah, I'd love to see them! my e-mail is songofthecedars at gmail dot com if you don't mind sending them over, many thanks!
I found a review for them and apparently they were actually pretty thin and had to be stored carefully to prevent tearing, so perhaps they're not as great as I had thought?
Found out about another product, this one called Gamescapes:
24x32" folded mat, looks very similar to the Paizo Gamemastery Flip Mats but MIGHT be made of heavier card, which to me is a good thing. Unfortunately most of their sets are the same on both sides, with a 1" grid on one side and a hex grid on the other.
The main reason I mention it is that there are a number of new sets such as the one pictured above that haven't been released yet, which means that this new trend in gaming tiles and mats is becoming more popular and we will hopefully see a lot of new releases from different companies in the future. I know that there are some new sets of the D&D ones already being advertised for 2012.

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
The most beautiful dungeon tiles I've come across are from Lord Zsezse. Check out this link below for an example. I actually won this from a seller on EBay who had already glued them to foamboard. It took me months to track down the actual producer of these fantastic tiles.

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
Have you ruled out making your own??
I have over a hundred room / corridor tiles on file, some with dungeon cards ready for use. I have just not got around to printing them and adding them to thick cardboard.
A lot are from the net plus lots of issued and fan-made stuff for heroquest etc.
In photoshop, as long as you have the image, they can be resized to WHQ and the black border added.
If you are interested let me know and I will e-mail you some.

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
I downloaded what seems to be a pretty decent torrent file called "Floorplans, Tiles, & Counters" that I've been slowly working my way through as far as finding the good ones. My only problem is that I don't have a printer, so for the moment I'm much more interested in finding some high-quality prefab ones. There are definitely some digital ones out there that I'd love to have, and actually used to from when I played back in the day, but at the moment I guess my priority runs more towards the D&D ones since they're so nice
Glitch, those tiles do look really nice. I'm definitely going to come back to this thread later and get them if I ever get access to a printer. And actually marder if you'd like, my e-mail is songofthecedars at gmail dot com so if there's any particularly awesome ones you want to send my way, it sure couldn't hurt.
I think I'm going to end up getting a bunch of the Gamemastery ones and gluing them to thicker card, too. I'll post here whenever I get around to that and let y'all know what kind of card works best as far as getting them to a good thickness for WHQ.

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
Well, I purchased one of the Paizo Flipmats and I have to say that right out of the packaging, I was so appalled at its inability to lay flat that I immediately started thinking about who I could give it away to :/
Then I remembered the little bit about folding it backwards, and that did a world of good. Still not perfectly flat by any means, but actually pretty perfect by my OCD standards. I'm now a believer.
These things really are pretty awesome, and they fold up to almost nothing which is much more than I can say about the bulky dungeon tiles. Sure, they're not modular, but they provide you with a nice big area for large encounters and I'd say that's pretty well worth it.
The one I got was the snowy mountain pass I posted on the first page of this thread, and I'd say it's damn near perfect for a Night Goblin ambush site. The high cliffs on either side make for an awesome spot from which to harass the party with missile fire. It's also just screaming to be used in that first fight against Goblin Wolf Riders at the very beginning of the Doom of Grishnak adventure from Lair of the Orc Lord, and that's probably what I'll keep it up my sleeve for.
Definitely gonna be getting more of these

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
Thread Hijack -
Is there any rules some where for special effects for the dungeon tiles?
Stuff like what can happen to the wizard when he enters the Shaman's Den but for the regular rooms?

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
A couple really inspiring pictures from a different forum:
This guy used the D&D tiles to build an Orc Invasion scenario for his party, and I'll be damned if it doesn't look like a ton of fun, so I'm going to steal it. The sets he used to make the map you see above are the Wilderness Master Set, Town Master Set, and Sinister Woods Tileset.
As you can see in the photos, the tiles have been stuck to a foam board using sticky tack, which doesn't harm the tiles (they are truthfully very sturdy, very well-made) but does keep them from sliding around during play.
Of course this isn't as nice as being able to just play a big scenario like this out on a full wargames table with 3D terrain, but for those of us with no space at home for all that kind of stuff, this is a pretty nice alternative.

Re: New dungeon/quest tiles
This is a fascinating thread as I would really love some new tiles for my games. I have 2 sets of the WHQ ones and am thinking of cutting one set up and adding them the tiles to the other one to make them bigger but that may be awkward.
Those Lord Zsezse tiles are excellent. personal xmas present I think.
If anyone has any PDF/doc tiles which are/can easily be made WHQ size they are willing to share I would be grateful if you could send them my way.
