Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Sam really needs a member list.
He says there are over 130 members on BTGM.
I can only confirm, through seeing them on the rankings charts or posts somewhere on the site, 71 members including Sam.
It is really confusing when someone talks of someone else that you had no idea they were a member or that they did whatever being referenced.
One can presume Karli & Violet are members since Sam and Ian are, but all you do is read about them playing their characters in Sam's adventure group in the BTGM Blog.
I really appreciate the member list here.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Yeah, I think a member list would be great. If they are linked to their profiles would also be a plus.
I think people can join and read at the BTGM site without ever having to post anything. That is probably the reason for the difference between the number he says are members and the number that you can see. We should remember that it is not strictly a message board/forum site, though it includes the forum(s).
Here it is part of Runboard's default setup for all message boards. So, I had no work to do on that part.
It was funny that I was part of that "loud" group when I had only posted 3 or 4 times on the BTGM site.
EDIT: By the way, Warrior Monk, have you suggested this idea (member list) at the BTGM site?
EDIT 2: (lol) Well, I went and reread a post Warrior Monk made there, which DID indicate his desire for the member list. So, I posted there to draw some attention. I am guessing though that the adding of more content is probably a higher priority to the webmaster.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Old Warrior, if you do not keep checking in once a day, you are never going to get back into Vannheim's.
Gold does not flow from doing nothing.
Find out when your gold cycle each day comes to a head and just set an alarm on your computer so as to check in at least at this reward point.
"inser_nickname_here", "Chaos Monkey" and "Rancid Walrus" are going to keep you out of Vannheim's at the rate they are charging ahead towards you.
Plus, there are some other up and comings getting up there too.
Everyone in the "loud" group at this point has posted at least seven times and most have started a topic (thread) as well.
Littlemonk and RedDogMT, you two also need to check in there more.
That way folks from here can be some of the leaders over there too.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Well, I am just not that competitive, but I do check in there at least once a day. Sometimes several times a day. It seems the gold is a rather random thing. I sometimes do not get gold, even if I logout and back in again.
As for posting there, I am far too busy elsewhere to commit much time there. I will try to post once in awhile though.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
You only get gold once a day at BTGM no matter what you do.
The amount is influenced by how much you have done on the site since you last received gold and Sam's rng take care of the rest.
What I did was hit the site several times one day until I got my gold.
Then I set my laptop's alarm to notify me when I got to that time again, and now I go get my gold when the alarm goes off.
Simple.

I see. Well, I will have to give that a try -- the alarm thing, assuming it is not at a time when I will normally be at work.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Lucky you!
Only three days have I received that much or more.
Then again, only nine days have I received triple digit quantities since I have joined BTGM.
Most of the time it has been only double-digit quantities and too often it has been only in the sixties.
Ugh!

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Leveled up, but got stuck into the Marauders.
Sam seems to have no formula for the Marauders.
I have the least gold of anyone I know on the site, but the most postings & topics other than Sam himself, but this does not make sense with who is still in the Marauders with me.
Old Warrior, you are back in the Vannheim's.
Found you six hours ago in the Damned with 5 Replies & 2 Topics.
When I leveled up just now, you got shunted to Vannheim's.
But you are only 80 gold in front of that j^#* from St. Louis.
Wonder where you will end up if he passes you.

Re: New WHQ Site: Beyond the Grey Mountains
Old Warrior, the simian is checking in every day when he should and has passed you.
Looks like the tusker will too unless you get your act in gear.
RedDogMT, nearly lapped you; get a move on!
If Old Warrior does not watch it, Little Monk will catch and beat him as well.
