Empire Flagellant


Some work on the Empire Flagellant, a fervor-driven warrior with their own settlement event table, and own economy of prophecies and revelations of the End Times. Lot of work to do still, but nonetheless a decent start. Bit of a read though:

I have read a goodly portion of the document. It is interesting. I see there is more work to do, but this is certainly a huge start. It reminds me of some of my own custom WHQ Warriors -- a little more in depth (or more complicated perhaps?) than the average Warrior.

I am curious as to how much of this was inspired by Warhammer Fantasy RPG. Which reminds me that I need to finish my Priest of Ranald too! emoticon

I have found it interesting that some Warriors seem to get increases in Ballistic Skill even though they are not supposed to use ballistic weapons (thinking especially of the official/semi-official Ogre). But, in the case of this flagellant, I see he is allowed to use a spear, which by the normal rules can be thrown using ballistic skill.

They get the use of spears, which is an optional missile weapon, however they will gain limited benefits since Rapid Fire bracers and other skills benefitting thrown weapons will not be available to them unlike other warriors.

So in that case they will have to rely on taking wounds and provoking their passive fervor for strength and attacks in order to be effective with said weapons, then having enough of said weapons to be effective (still balancing out the beggar-market). I think the fervor mechanic balances out most of the issues, and will have to consider actually lowering the threshholds since you'll have to take quite a few wounds before these warriors become effective at lower levels.
